April vs End of September crowds

Hi Disers! So my plan was to travel to the land next year at the end of April, hopefully missing most of the spring break crowds and leaving before dapper days, but due to leave requirements at work that may not be a possibility anymore. I'm now looking at finally seeing the parks dressed up in their Halloween glory at the end of September and getting to experience Mickeys Halloween Party too!! both of my previous trips were at the end of April/start of May as I love the lower crowds and milder weather! I'm just wondering if anyone could offer a crowd comparison between April and the end of September. I'm traveling solo so can make the most of single rider, but I'd still like to know what I'm in for

I just want to make sure you know -- just so you don't have extra-high hopes! -- there is almost nothing in the way of Halloween Time in DCA at all (unless Disney suddenly surprises us with some decorations this year), other than some merchandise. It's been that way for years. And in Disneyland, the decorations are usually on Main Street and in Frontierland, but it looks like some things are being cut out of the array of festivities in Frontierland this year. So I'm not sure exactly how much "Halloween" we will get in Disneyland this time around -- especially with the 60h anniversary going on -- but there should certainly be enough decorations present to provide some atmosphere for the Halloween Party!

It's funny because people come away from the Halloween Time experience with different observations -- some folks think that it seems like Halloween all over the park, and others think that you can barely tell its Halloween Time once you get past Main Street! I once read someone's comment on Yelp about how "all of the rides" get Halloween overlays, which is not true at all. It struck me as amusing that he was apparently so excited with what was in the parks that, in his mind, all of the rides had Halloween overlays -- when, in fact, there are only 2 rides with overlays!

The last time I visited DLR in April, I didn't find the crowds to be all that awful...not like what I was expecting, anyway. When Mickey's Halloween Party begins, a lot of people will show up to Disneyland to attend. I think that late September will seem quite a bit busier than late April/early May -- that's my guess -- at least on certain days. It will most likely be hot.

We were there last September and into early October. The crowds are much lighter than in April, as there are so many spring break times that go from mid March through to the end of April.

The weather was smoking hot (and one can hope it will be again this year), but it can change for the worse anytime of the year. Halloween time is very busy, and both the parks are busy. Interestingly enough that if you do rides in the evening of the Halloween party, they are almost all walk on (in the DLR).

DCA is a different story, we found that the other park was packed to the rafters on the Halloween party night.

If I had a choice, I would take the September dates, and get an early ticket to the party.

BTW Single rider is the best on RCR basically walk on, every time we went up.
