April Trip Planning Stage Questions

Hello Everyone,

I thought I'd post a thread here to soak up some of the experience from others who may have gone to Disneyland in the month of April.

So, a few questions...

I'm going at the beginning of the month and was wondering what day of the week would be a good day to go to the parks. I'm guessing the weekend is a terrible time to go because of the local crowd, so basically I'm looking for which weekday would be the best time to go (Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday at this point).

Also, what's the weather like in Anaheim during this time of year. Would shorts and a t-shirt be appropriate, or should I bring a sweatshirt which could be taken off later. Should I be concerned about "April Showers"?

Your comments will determine if I'm bringing a backpack or a fanny pack to the parks and what days I'll be attending, so any guidance would be most appreciated!

Thanks!

You are looking at spring break and it's gonna be crowded no matter what day of the week you pick. It's best to have multiple days to see the parks as there is a lot to see and with big crowds, not a lot of time to see it in. We all suggest a minimum of 3 days. The beginning of last April was cold and rainy, but normally it's not like that. Always, regardless of time of year, bring jackets/sweaters because once the sun starts to go down, so do the tempertures.

We're going April 17-20. This is the week AFTER the week after Easter. How are the crowds then?

FYI, I just booked our Mar 31-Apr 3 trip and had a hard time finding a hotel for all the days, so get your rooms booked ASAP. Crowds later in the month should be a bit better since most schools should be done with their spring breaks.

We booked our rooms yesterday for April 17-20, and only one hotel (out of about 5) had sold out rooms. Just fyi. We're staying at the Best Western Park Place Inn, for close proximity.

There will still be some spring break crowds, and also, the end of April is the end of the 2fer special, so there will be crowds. But it shoudn't be too bad.

Middle of the week is always better, but I would try to get in on a Friday for fireworks if possible. Fridays have weekend hours, but they are not usually too crowded.

Shorts and a t-shirt will probably be fine for the day, or even jeans and a t-shirt. Bring a jacket or sweatshirt for the evening and you will be set. :)
