Hi everyone was hoping for some opinions. We have been to WDW 3 times and were thinking of visiting Disneyland. Was wondering when would be best time in terms of crowds, weather and attractions being open (heard Carsland to open in summer). April 12-21, anytime in mid June to August? Suggestions??

April will be busy but better if you went the later weeks.
June you may miss Carsland or be there with a giant crowd when it opens, so risky either way you look at it.
July busy but not terrible on most days later in the month.
August can be great, but avoid the week third week when SoCal AP holders are let back into the park. The earlier part of the month can be good, the last week of the month great crowdwise.

For many years we went in April. We loved the weather, but the past few years the crowds seem to be getting much worse. We went in late June this year and had great weather and really managable crowds. However, 2012 being the year of Carsland...I wouldn't want to miss it! Even if it meant warmer weather and more crowds. So for summer 2012 I would pick July, or very early August.

In 2012 it is definitely August because of Cars Land, Buena Vista Street and the completion of the major DCA refurb.

Most of my trips have been in July to early August. It was busy but definately manageable especially because they have the fastpass system. I have never had a problem in the summer and will do it again.:cool1:

August because that maximizes your chances of Carsland and the other things they're doing being finished and open. You will likely see crowds. But just like WDW, if you have a good touring plan, you can get through with not all so much in the way of waits.
