Anyone have any ideas of a harmless joke a first grader can play on her classmates?

Funny! I JUST started a thread like this at the same time as you! Hope we get some answers!

I have a 10 year old and we always play jokes. I am planning to wak her up with the good news that she is going to have a little brother or sister. She will be hoffiried. She never wanted a sibling. I hope that I can get her when she is just waking up because if she is wide awake she won't believe it.

It's going to be my little laugh in the morning.

ok saying this I am a snarky person, she knows this, I am toying with putting a weight in her lunchbox so when she opens is there is nothing in there and 5 minutes after her lunch starts I walk in with her favorite lunch.

Not all teachers allow it.

I told my first grade class today that absolutely no jokes are allowed at school tomorrow and they can play jokes on their families at home all they want.

It's hard enough to maintain the attention of 2 dozen first graders all day long. I don't need little pranks being played all day. :teacher:

Imagine if each kid played a joke on the rest of the class....24 jokes throughout the day? C'mon.

I guess I'm just a party pooper but I hate April Fool's jokes. I can't imagine being a teacher where they were going on all.day.long.

Yuck.

I am a kindergarten teacher so I can only imagine how many "there's a spider on you" and "there's someone/something behind you" LOL those are the only jokes they know!

That was my exact thoughts when I read this thread. I wouldn't send my child in with a prank for the class perhaps on DH but not the class. I volunteer in the class each week. It's a struggle all day to keep the 1st graders on task and paying attention on a day to day basis needless when it's a special event going on. I'd hate to see the day every parent decided to send their child in with a prank to perform on the class.

Im also a Kindergarten teacher. My kids today were practicing for April Fools they said. I heard "there is a bird on your head" all day long!

One year I made "vanilla icecream cones" for the neighborhood kids using mashed potatoes. Not really something you could do at school but it sure was fun.
