**April 6, 2013** - Fantasy Eastern Caribbean to San Juan!

Good morning. I decided to cancel this cruise this morning. For the price of this one cruise on the Fantasy, I could take two cruises on another cruise line, so I've decided to go ahead and do that.

Hope you all have a fantastic time on the Fantasy!
Thank you... enjoy your other 2 cruises!

We will be joining this cruise too - myself (Caryn) my husband (another Scottish Ross on board!!) and daughters Bethany (13) and Holly (9). This will be our second Disney cruise and we can't wait!! We did the FE last time and it was such fun we would love to join in again :yay:

We don't have a cabin number yet - all we have from our TA is a guarantee of at least a cat 9 ..... hoping that get upgraded to a balcony!!
Message me your info and I will update the list. We can ad your cabin # when you get it. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! We sailed on the Fantasy on April 14th and booked this cruise while on board. It will be me (DH) 43, DW 46, DD 9, DD 6 and another family with two girls the same age. We are in a Cat 4B. This will be our 4th DCL cruise but hope to book a short one this summer to get GOLD for this one!

Also, last cruise someone set-up a fun Facebook group in addition to the DIS boards. Has anyone done that for this cruise?
No one has set up a facebook group, but we do have a FE list going... if you would like to join, just message me your info and I will update the list. :)

Sorry I am a bit late in posting this reply. We were on vacation until the
22nd April and then I was straight back to work and on a training course and trying to catch up with college assignments...phew.

We loved the Fantasy. We had cruised last year on the Dream and felt it too rushed, big ship and a shorter cruise, too much to do and too little time! For that reason we booked the Fantasy. Check in and boarding was a breeze, we had 1100-1130 slot and we were number 7, we were called around 15 mins after check in. Slight line to get on but mainly due to the photos.

Buffet at Cabanas was great and we both commented that it didn't seem as crowded or manic as it was on the Dream. The pool areas were busy on sea days but you could still find somewhere to sit. We didn't get off at Grand Cayman as we've been before, we decided to stay on and enjoy the ship.

We had brunch and dinner at Palo. I was unable to book brunch or the evening I wanted for dinner at the 90 day mark but when we got on board I managed to change the dinner booking and book brunch. Both were great and our server was excellent.

Tried the champagne tasting. We were only able to get one space but were told to turn up on the day to see if there was an additional space, which turned out to be fine. Next time I think we will try some other tasting experiences.

Decided to try a few of the bars after dinner on a few nights and they were all good. We liked the Irish bar as they had entertainment and also a quiz on most nights. Skyline was good and Meridian was really quiet, it was more like a waiting area for Remy & Palo.

We booked DD into BBB when we got on board and again managed to get what we wanted, but I believe they are now taking bookings online at the same time as excursions. She loved it.

Shows:-
A Fantasy Come True - We weren't keen on this was, it was ok but just ok.
Aladdin - We loved it, although our DS aged 2 was a bit scared at first, it was a bit loud, but then he seemed to settle down.
Wishes - A good show which both kids loved.
Believe - We'd seen this before on a previous cruise but liked it so we watched it again as DD couldn't remember much about it.

Animators was great and we were there on the last night which I loved.

Sorry it's a long post...that's all I can think of now, but if you have any questions I am happy to try and answer the best I can.

ScottishMummyof2...where are you from. My DH and I are originally from Lanarkshire but have lived in Berkshire/Hampshire for the past 18 years or so. We didn't see many other people from the UK on our cruise.

Thanks for the info :thumbsup2 We are excited to experience the new ship! :cool1:

We are from Milngavie north of Glasgow. We cruised with DCL 2 years ago and were the only scots on board. Did lots of Premier Cruises pre-kids and Ross used to take his kilt for formal night, we got bought drinks all night but sadly with luggage weight restrictions its not possible to do that now :wave2: Your cruise review sounds excellent, we are getting very excited - now just need to find some affordable flights on Easter week-end 2013!!

Hi All,

DW and I will be joining you all on this cruise - it will be a 55th BD celebration for myself! This will be our first cruise on the Fantasy and I look forward to it!

This will also be our first time with a verandah room!

Scottishmummyof2 - We are also playing the waiting game for flights, prices are so high at the moment, so we are hoping they will come down a bit. We are heading to Florida in August and we booked our flights a while ago, but my dad has decided to join us for our week on Anna Maria Island but flights from Glasgow/Edinburgh via New York are coming out around £800...just too much so also checking to see if they come down.

Trekker - Welcome to the cruise, I'm sure you will have a great time and don't forget to tell them it's your birthday celebration.

We just got back from WDW on Sunday and I've been in the vacation dumps, but thinking about our November trip and this cruise has been helping me get through.

I can't wait!!! Of course, I'd like to lose about 30lbs before then (as I sit at my desk eating Turtle Chex Mix). :lmao:

Hello, everyone!

Since I last checked the thread, I have been on the Mexican Rivera cruise on the Wonder and we went to WDW for Leap Year. We are headed back next week for a quick weekend trip. I really need to stop!

Glad to see some new comers!!! Welcome :).

Hey All!

Is anyone keeping a roll-call list for those on this cruise - or is only an FE list being kept?

Just popping in for a quick check.

Hope everyone's summer is going well!

Trekker -- I don't believe anyone has started a roll call...just the FE list.

We are in the process of looking for a pre-cruise hotel. I think (right now) our plan is to drive down on Thursday afternoon and stay in Cocoa Beach. We were thinking about flying down, but decided that we really enjoy having the freedom of packing the car and arriving/leaving when we want, so driving it is!!!

Anyone else doing any preliminary planning yet? Or am I the only crazy one?

NOPE! I am loving deciding what to do first! We are coming from England and althought originally thought we might come for 3 nights at a beach before the cruise, I am working hard to turn this into a 7/8 night trip landing in miam, going to the keys and then doing a couple of beach resorts on a bit of a road trip to the port!
Only issue I'm having is deciding on flights home.
What time would we realistically be able to get to the airport for on disembarkation day? We HAVE to leave this day so I'm back in time for work but the later flights seem a LOT more expensive!!!
CANNOT WAIT!!!!:banana::banana::banana:

Hi all,

Trekker had me thinking and I looked back through the thread. There was a roll call, but it has not been updated in some time. I would be happy to keep track of the roll call for the cruise. **Please let me know if I missed anyone**

My gut would say to not book anything before noon, but that's just me. Say the cruise docks somewhere before or around 7:30. Once you disembark and get to your transportation, it's probably going to be close to 9am. The trip back to Orlando is about 45 minutes to an hour, getting you TO the airport at 10-ish.

The last time I flew into the Orlando airport, I recall security being a pain in the behind with really long lines. Of course, that was in 2006 so it could have changed since then. I always like to get myself to the airport early so that I'm not stressing out.

Like I said, this is just my thoughts and what I know we would be comfortable with. Good luck with the flights!

Hi

Thanks to MissLiz for updating the list. Could I ask for a minor correction? My 3 year old is a DS rather than a DD...although in saying that, recently he's taken to wearing my daughters old Snow White dress when she has her princess dress on....which is very funny.

We are trying to plan but we are struggling to get flights from the UK at a reasonable price. I keep checking but they are so expensive. We are planning to have one week before and one week after the cruise in Florida, which I was hoping would help bring the prices down as it is a bit outside of our school vacation dates, but not so far. I am itching to get on booking accommodation and car hire but need to wait on flights.

I bought some magnetic paper today as I will hopefully try and get some artwork done for our door on the cruise this time.
