April 25th It's going to be a Dream

I debated about bringing our own snorkel gear...figured it's just one more thing to pack and lug around.

I am also doing the 5k at CC!

Just going to explore Nassau and hang out on the ship that day.:bitelip:

I will have my own mask and snorkel. Can I just rent fins (on Castaway Cay)?

We're bringing our own snorkel gear except the vests. Hubby has gigantic feet, and I was worried that they wouldn't have Yeti-sized fins available for him.:chewy: I understand the vests are also mandatory for all snorkellers, but they provide them free of charge if you have your own gear.

Everything I read says that there's a flat charge for mask/fins/snorkel and you can't just do fins only. I'm really hoping that's wrong, since $25 would be pretty steep for just your fin rental.

It's too bad that the Flying Dutchman isn't there anymore. I would have liked to swim up to check that out. But it still sounds like there will be lots to see!

what excursions is everyone doing? we are doing the discover atlantis one on Nassau and the JetSkis on CC

We are doing the Dolphin Swim at Nassau. I've been to Nassau and Paradise Island about 3 times in the past and did the Dolphin Encounter with my mother several years ago. My mom wasn't comfortable swimming at all though so we only did the encounter. But I am with my husband this time and figured we'd try it. I've done a sea lion swim at St. Thomas before and I figured it'd be very similar where you have a life vest.

At Castaway Cay we might rent snorkel equipment but I figured it'd be a relax day by the adult beach. I haven't heard great things about the Stingray encounter and otherwise I am not really interested in anything else.

We went to WDW in February was awesome :) This was just a quick trip for us for my 30th Birthday. Going to stay at the Hyatt in the hotel the night before.

I am doing WDW after...family is leaving and my sister is flying in to meet me! No kids, no husbands :banana::banana:

We are staying at OKW one night, then to Bay Lake...doing the Expedition Everest Challenge :ccat:

is that the 5Km run??

YES!! It's a 5k run, obstacle course, and scavenger hunt! Our first time...sounds like lots of fun :)

I don't know if its too much to ask or everyone will see this message (I'll also post on the Disboard), but would it be possible to add the children's gender to the spreadsheet? You can put an "f" for female or "m" for male next to their name in parentheses. I'm working on gender specific gifts and I don't want to give anyone the wrong thing. Thanks!!

I was just wondering how and when we find out the stateroom numbers of those who signed the Google doc as room number TBD? I assume these people won't know until onboard? We had planned not to subscribe to the internet while onboard.

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry guys, I've been offline a few days...computer problems. (ugh)

On the frames, if you take them to guest services they will have ALL the characters sign them for you and it looks so nice and neat. That way you don't have to carry them with you everywhere and get them wet at the pool. We have used an 8x10 each time with a very large mat area. They actually "Magically" sign it and bring it to your room...so much easier and a sure way to get ALL the characters in a nice display.

Another cute signature item is the large solid color Vinylmation mickey!

A Previous post -"the last FE group had a person that kept the spreadsheet updated .... and on the boat she put a dry erase board on her door notifying you if anyone's cabin changed due to day-of upgrades and "pixy dust" (which I understand DCL will do some spontaneous upgrades)."

Junebug volunteered (correct me if I'm wrong) to host the white board on her door during the cruise.

Yep, that's right. There will be a dry erase board on door 5544 for cabin changes. I even bought a Mickey one for the job! :thumbsup2
