Just a quick report on our third trip to Disney World in the last four years. We travelled out on Wednesday 6th April and got back early yesterday morning. We had a Flydrive package booked through Travel City Direct using Virgin Atlantic flights and Dollar car hire. This is the first trip we have totally stayed offsite and not used the Dinning Plan, and to be honest I think this will be the way forward for us in the future. For the first seven nights we stayed at the Holiday Inn on Hotel Plaza Blvd, Lake Buena Vista. We paid £343 (through Monarch) for the week and I cant praise this hotel enough, the location, the food (especially the breakfast buffet), the service I would definately recomend a stay here to anyone. For the second week we stayed at the Hilton Bonnet Creek, for this we paid £470 (through Travel Republic). This is a lovely hotel but a bit pricey once there ($4 for a croisant!). For the whole trip we had fantastic weather, late 80s early 90s, with very little cloud and just two quick standard Orlando rain showers. We used the hotel shuttle buses to transport us to all the Disney parks, not the quickest method but they were always ontime and served us well. We used the car for the Universal and Sea World parks. As for the parks For the first ten days or so it was brilliant with none or very little queues. Then the Easter crowds started to arrive, Itll be hard work this week (weve done Easter weekend before). It was great for us on this trip with our DD7 now over the 48 height limit and all the new rides available to all of us as a family, no more single riders or child swaps just for the big stuff which DW isnt keen about. We was a bit disappointed with Disneys Electrical Parade, we thought SpectroMagic was better. We did get to see Fantasmic which was a first for us, we got into the stadium when the doors opened 90 minutes before the show and had great seats. We spent the time chatting to a family sat in front of us so the time pass quick. It was worth the effort and quite a spectacular show. We also rode the Harry Potter Forbidden Journey at Universal with a 45 minute wait, we were impressed and were not potter fans. Some of our favourite restaurants were the Ale Houses (tried two), Outback, Buffalo Wild Wings (at the Crossroads). Not so good was Chevys Fresh Mex (again at the Crossroads). Overall another very enjoyable trip with lots of laughs and smiles. Many many thanks to all the contributors on DIS, the help and advise we take from this site is always welcome. We said we are going to try for a 2012 trip, probably have to be August though Thatll be interesting, hot and expensive I suspect.
All the best.
