Does anyone know a good or bad time to go to DisneyWorld in April 2008?

I'm looking at 5th to 19th (ie after Easter) but I don't know when UK or US schools and colleges have holidays?

Anyone able to point me in right direction?

More and more school holidays vary between areas. Without doubt, because Easter falls early next year, some of the UK schools will have their Easter break during the time you're considering. However, UK visitors make up only a small percentage of total visitors and the hellishly busy time will end the weekend following Easter, so you've picked a good time, I'd say.

I think April missing Easter is one of the best times to go, crowds shouldn't be too bad and the weather is ideal.

NO! dont do it. That will be the busiest 2 weeks of 2008. Its when the US holidays fall, even though its after easter.

Put it back 3 weeks and you will have a far better time.

I'm pretty sure that most of the US schools will have planned their one week Spring Break to co-incide with Easter next year, although it's possible that some will fall during the first week of your planned trip. If that's the case, poggs is right - you should avoid it at all costs. It might be worth posting on the US Community forum.

Weather wasn't ideal this year. We were there 7th-21st. Had to buy fleeces. Never known temps vary so much, one day was 90 next 65 it was like that all fortnight. Never worn longs so much in Florida.
This was Easter/Spring break this year and it was no busier than August, expected a lot more people there. Weekends were busy but midweek were reasonable crowds.

It was like that in March 2005, cold one day, sunny the next - obviously weather (as I have often said) is unpredictable early in the year and I guess that now stretches through to April.

Shame then we are going March next year, mainly to protect Josh from the heat in the summer.

Hiya,

we are going to be there then!! (well 6th to 17th)
When we researched, we asked around - Last time we picked hurricane season!!! big mistake, hated the weather/heat/humidity so the consensus was springtime for local conditions to suit us (kids at school so our choices are limited!)

Virgin Rep said local spring break is coming to a close around then, so the weekend (5th/6th)will be very busy, but after that it will probably be "mainly the Brit contingent and therefore a bit busy, but nothing like the 4 weeks prior". A call to some villa agents also said pretty much the same thing - and that the second week should be quieter(12th ish onwards). A friend who was living out there 2 years ago said the weeks to avoid in spring are the last 2 weeks of March - but it can be very busy the first week in April too.

So, I guess the later the better - if you have the luxury of choice!

Cheers,
Tessa

We are going 5-19 - OKW. We just need to reserve our flight exactly 11 months before departure date. Spring Break will be coming to a close, as I asked this same question a couple of months ago. Our last visit was Christmas and it was really busy but we all still love it.

Thank you everyone who commented on this thread.
I think its a thumbs up for the dates in question even if a bit busy with the Brits en masse!

We're going then to .. We went april 2 years ago, the weather was great except pool wasn't heated and was freezing, lines were ok aswell :)

I found a thread the other day on the main theme park amd attractions section with a poll of spring break dates for next year. As a technophobe I can post links :confused3 but the results listed the weeks as follows -

24 mar
14 apr
21 apr
7 apr
31 mar

I have listed them with the busiest first, ie, the most people taking their spring break at that time.

I have visited the week of Easter and the week after. Not sure how this correlated to the US spring breaks that year but the fiirst week was hell and the second week was fab - mgm was desserted the day went. The weather was fab too. See you there we are going on march 29 08!
