Not to beat this with a dead horse, I've never done this before. Before I go to the ship, I can (and should?) purchase wine. I can put that in a carryon and bring it on the ship and have it whenever I want? I would have to pack a wine opener because they will charge me a corking fee, right?

You can carry on any beverages you want- wine, water, liquor, etc. Prior to 2 weeks ago you could check it with your luggage, but now you must carry it on yourself so that it can go through the scanner. You can put it in a suitcase, backpack, etc. or a soft cooler (no hard coolers allowed). You cannot have any ice in the cooler, but your stateroom attendant will get you ice as soon as you get to your cabin. He/she will loan you a corkscrew, just ask, and will also get wineglasses for you. You are only charged a corkage fee ($15.00 and an automatic 15% gratuity) if you bring a bottle of wine to dinner. You can (and many people do) arrive at dinner with a full glass of wine and there is no charge. Hope this helps!

Hey, gotta question. I'm trying to decide between getting my hair done for formal night or getting my crinolin for my gown pressed. I'm going to bring the crinolin home and see how it does with the steam from a shower so maybe it'll be a moot point anyway. But, should I have to make that decision, anyone know where I can find out what the costs of pressing are? It's one of those 6 tier crinolins so I know it's not going to be just a few bucks but a major expense. But it really would help if I could find out how much. Thanks.

Just checked my list from 2005 of dry-cleaning prices.They might have gone up but it will give you an idea of what to expect:
Suit 2 piece 7,-$
Pants 4,25$
Jackets 4,50$
Shirts 3,50$
Sweaters/Blouse 4,-$
Skirts 4,50$
Evening dress 8,-$
Pressing only is 50% of that price.

Oh, you've opened a Pandora's box there. I've had a lot of fun with my door magnets and I hope nobody minds but I'm going to show them off here. Debbie, if you'd like any of these, just let me know and I'll be happy to modify them. I did some other ones but these are my favorites.

HEY! There's lots of us on Deck 2......you'll be in good company! "CraftyMouse' - who knows everything about DCL on the main boards, says that Deck 2 is the absolute BEST location.

And, since it's your birthday and all, I'd be happy to do your hair for you on Formal Night. I'm not a hairdresser by any means, but if I do say so myself, I'm pretty good at doing hair. With 2 daughters, I've had to learn how to do "fancy hair" to avoid paying $60.00 a pop for every semi-formal and prom those girls of mine are always going to. We are cabin neighbors so it would work out easily. That way you can have the slip and the hair...what could be better ?!! I've been avidly reading King Charming's pre-trip report so I know that you wanting both will be just too stressful for him!

Okay, now that I've cleaned the Pepsi off my monitor, you might be right. He's doing really good, but yeah, it might be! I'll take you up on that. I'm looking for something kind of like what Cinderella's hair is in the formal night picture -- you know... up on my head so it shows off the tiara I'm going to wear. Is that hard to do? If it is, I don't want to put you through it. It's very, very sweet of you to offer.

I see my cabin number on my reservation now. Still cat 12, no upgrade! So disappointed. Does anyone think there could still be a chance? We booked Aug 1st GTY, Because we got upgraded to cat 8 last time, I was hoping.

Hey there! I was just going to do this and I realized I didn't know the ages of your kids. If you'll give me their ages I can do different sizes of kid graphics to kind of indicate age. I checked Joan's spreadsheet but didn't see you in there yet so I still don't know their ages. Just let me know and I'll get the graphic knocked right out.

As for the Tink one,.... I'm glad you like it! Feel free to use it for a magnet if you want.

that is most likely your cabin, before that did it say gty??

We have our cabin now too (we booked a gty 12), but we are a family of 4 so we get an cat 11 or higher. but what stinks about our
cabin is we are very forward on deck 6 hope we don't get a little wavey at night .

we always get ourselves an inside cabin, we very rarely do gty though. we do 2 cruises a year so the money we save from an inside we apply it to the next cruise.

I don't blame you! It doesn't make since, how can they change your reservation without first confirming it with you! What if you made other plans there! Don't they think that once you have a reservation, your expecting to stay there, wait list or not. That should be YOUR decision if you want to take it if there's a room, NOT THEIRS!

Happy Belated Easter to all - been sick with Asthmatic Bronchtis for the last week. Been on an anitbiotic for the last 7 days - 3 more days to go and got put on a 7 day decrease each day regimine to Predisone yesterday which I HATE to be on - but the breathing and coughing thing became too compromising. Been home from work yesterday and today. If this HAS to happen at all, I'm glad it's now rather than on the cruise!

Counting the days......! I need that Carribbean sun!
