April 19, 2008 - Western - VERY Early Roll Call - Anyone??!!

We are booked for the April 19th cruise on the Magic. I have a 10 year old daughter and a 7 year old son. I am trying to meet someone who has a 7 year old that my son Zachary can hang out with at camp. He is a great kid, very outgoing and loves the camp(this will be our 6th Disney cruise). It would be great if he made a friend before the cruise that he could meet once we get on board.

My son Tyler will be six at the time of the cruise. Come to Promonade Lounge on the first day and I'm sure he will meet some friends before the camp.:)

Hi Angie
My family and I will also be on the April 19th Western cruise on the Magic. This will be our 6th cruise. I am trying to find a friend for my son Zachary. He is going to be 7 in July. He is a really sweet boy. He loves to go to the camp and I thought it would be nice to have a friend he could go play with. He would be excited to get to know your daughter before the cruise. we are from Mass. Yvette

 I'm Back....

Here's why I haven't been on in a while.
Both myself and my wife were picked as extras in a movie scene that's being filmed in our city. It's a movie called Ashecliffe, directed my Martin Scorceses with Leonardo Dicaprio as the 'star' also in our scenes. It's been pretty interested to see what goes on behind the scenes. As for Dicaprio, I've stood within 2 feet from the guy on numerous scenes and he never spoke a single word to me or anyone of the other extras in the movie. Not even a 'hey', or 'hi'.

I'll have to cut this short, brain stopped working about 6 pages ago.

Wow, how exciting. Have you ever done that before? Too bad about Leo, I've always liked him but he does seem a little odd! :upsidedow You know, good looking, lot's of money does that to a person. He does, though, do a lot for evironmental causes.

Hi everyone!

I hope the new dining rotation doesn't put me somewhere other than Lumiere's for formal night. Of course, being a non-cat-1-3 person, I don't know what my rotation will be. But I'm hoping and hoping and hoping that it'll be Lumiere's for formal night (my birthday too). Went for a fitting in the dress Saturday. Boy, this whole feminine thing is soooooo not me but I'm looking forward to being in that dress :-) Just one night every 20 years I can be a princess, eh? :-)

Well, I'd best get to work. Catch you guys later on.

No hurry, I won't get my computer fack from Dell until, they said, April 6th. Thanks.

Joan - I'm feeling your pain and I'm especially bummed for you about the possible move thing. I SO get the dynamic of that. I'm living in my childhood house and have been my whole life. I inherited it from my mom who died in 2002. I can't even imagine living any place else. Maybe you can rent the house so you won't have to sell it. Man, this vacation sounds like it will be the cure!

Thank you for responding. :thanks: I wish we could afford to rent it but we need the profit for a down payment. It's not a definite, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Maybe I can whip up some magic and it will come my way! :stir: DISNEY MAGIC!!! :tinker:

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!:shamrock:

OMG - I am SO pissed off at DVC right now!

I don't blame you! It doesn't make since, how can they change your reservation without first confirming it with you! What if you made other plans there! Don't they think that once you have a reservation, your expecting to stay there, wait list or not. That should be YOUR decision if you want to take it if there's a room, NOT THEIRS!

Hi Colleen, no I didn't grow up here but have lived for for 15 years. Does your son play sports, and is he going to do the Teen Club or Quest? My 12 (13 in July) year old is complaining already. We did the 3 day Wonder last April and he was bored....:thanks:

Hi, Yes he does. He loves basketball and skateboarding! He will go to the teen club. We have been on Wonder and Magic and I think Magic, because its longer, he had a better time because there seems to be more things and a better chance to actually get to know other kids and feel comfortable around them. He was always in the tournaments and won the basketball tournament on the Magic, so he loved that! I think your son will definately like this cruise! I'll tell you, even us as adults, liked Magic much more! He will have a GREAT time, don't worry!!!!

Hey there! Welcome!!!!! Let me know about your excursions too. I'll be updating the "hyperlist" sometime probably this weekend.

We booked a room at the Westin Resort in Grand Cayman and we are doing the Beach Break in Cozumel. How do I do a door magnet????? Sooooo:confused3 Thanx.

Denise-Thanks for the info on mulitiple posting, I will try it on the tech board.

Joan-hope things change about the move.

Has anyone heard anything about the new dining rotation. I requested ALP, will this no longer exist?

Almost 1 month:woohoo:

How do I do a door magnet?????

Well, you create (or find, or ask to have made for you) a picture of something you like. Then you print it out on magnetic paper. They sell some (Walmart, etc.) that's designed to go through an inkjet printer. There's another thread on the boards that has a ton of different graphics. You could use something Adobe Photoshop to put them together. Or, if you find one you like, often the creator of the graphic will do it up with your name/date. This thread is at http://disboards.com/showthread.php?p=23868140#post23868140

If you see something I've done, just ask... be happy to do it for you.

After I get Tyler's thing fixed ... see, Joan... I haven't forgotten. I have until at least April 6, eh?

No, it was the first time for both of us.
They are filming just 5 minutes away from our house, which was the main reason we both put in for it.
I have to go back tomorrow for one more day of filming.
(not sure if Leo will be there too)

Someone was talking about 6 year olds.
My son is 6, however, he's pretty shy and didn't want to stay in the club last year, even with cousin who's 1 1/2 years older than him. She did stay in the club. We'll see how this year goes. His cousin will be on this cruise also.

Hey everyone!

I don't know if you guys have been keeping tabs on the "Helpful Information for You" thread, but apparently things are changing big time in terms of what can be brought. The thread is at http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1520273&referrerid=107127. Someone's asked and I'm awaiting clarification but it sure sounds like you can't bring cases of water on board and maybe not even liquor now. Bummer! Is that how you guys are reading this too?

but i was also going to bring a couple of 2 liter bottles of soda, I do know they offer free soda but if I am in my room I don't want to run up to the drink station just for 1 drink:thumbsup2

Hey Everyone - King Charming (AKA HyperMommy's DH) has started his Pre-Trip report. It promises to be a riveting read.... check it out on the Trip Reports board!:thumbsup2

Guilty as charged. I've titled it KC's western Pre trip report, but the sub-title is "A free cruise is gonna cost WHAT?? If you are interested in a sharp concise pre trip report, please find one for all of us. Mine on the other hand is a very long winded attempt to keep my sanity while attempting to cope with the escalating costs that come with this opportunity. Rather than saving & planning like most folks, I was thrown into the deep end so to speak. This has turned into an epic, so be prepared for a long drawn out affair. Thanks Jim.
