Hi all,

No, I haven't dropped off the face of the earth... just been swamped busy. Went over on Monday and talked to the plumbing company that wants an estimate for a website. I'm surely going to be able to do it but now I just have to put the quote together. And a former client is having trouble with their website. They upgraded to a later version of Access and it appears to be processing my code in a different order than the older version of Access did. Leave it up to ol' Billy Gates to screw something up between one version and another, eh? And I'm trying to teach myself a somewhat new coding thing -- DotNetNuke. So I'll probably be re-doing my website. Again. Hey, John, you're IT aren't you? Got any experience with DNN?

Am I behind adding anyone's photos to the website? If so, please let me know.

Those with whom my kids are corresponding, please let your kids know it's me that dropped the ball, not the boys. I'll get them on here soon, I promise.

Oh, and when I said I was living right the other day, y'all, I guess God must have heard me and laughed becuase it wasn't five minutes later my empty coffee cup slipped out of my hand as I was heading into the kitchen to get coffee. Yep, shattered all over the floor. A really nice supersized Disney one. Fortunately, I got it at a yard sale and didn't have to pay a Disney price for it. But it's still a bummer!!!

I went to Disney on my honeymoon too. Ahhh... those were the days (BC.. before children). But mine are 14 and 12 now so when we go to Disney they're usually off on their own anyway (as we go rather often). So we're starting to have some alone time just DH and I in the magic of the World again. You'll see the "hyperlist" in just a moment (I'm about to finally get caught up and post it again). Please get me your relevant info on it. And have you seen the link to Joan's spreadsheet. More info on there we'd love to have from you (things like are you going to be participating in the Fish Extender and/or the gift exchange, when are you getting in, what's your cabin, etc., etc.). I will also custom modify almost any image you send me to have your name, or whatever... If you need extensive photo work... (taking photo out of another photo..., or something) I will do that. I will limit it to 2 per room, as I could get jammed up badly with much more...

I really like the graphics from Techjpm. You are talented... I have no clue how to do that stuff... my daughter would love Minnie doing the hula on a t-shirt but I don't know where to start... can you help or do for us???

Yeah, a nametag would be great. I'll probably go with my board name.... "Hypermommy" is so much more who I really am than "Denise". But let me check with DH and the kids first and see if they want them too.

If you get jammed up with picture requests, let me know and I'll be happy to help out. I created the Showers of Happiness graphic out of several photos (Cap'n Jack wasn't even on ArialView and that had to be changed). You can tell it's one of the first ones I did (at least I can) becuase the floor.... er, uh ... deck is so messed up.

I've also put together a few other graphics for my cabin door (and if anyone wants a full-sized version, let me know)

So I would say I'm qualified to help if you get overwhelmed. This graphic arts stuff is fun, ain't it??? I know it's certainly got me hooked. I've gotten so into digital scrapbooking it's not even funny! (No really... not funny, just ask DH... he'll tell ya)

But now I've gotten to thinking.... I know there's another thread on the boards here about cruise door decorations but what about you guys in particular. Got your door decorations together? Can you share them? I would just love to see what everyone's doing. I might even have to "scraplift" some of y'all's ideas if you don't mind. I want to start out with the basic one of us on the beach (well, our alter egos) and then add each day. I may do more for Pirate Night but Joey (DS12) came up with the idea for the "Why is the rum gone" one and it was such a great idea I just had to run with it. That one's up in my office now and is going to stay up (as is "spoiled rotten").

Okay... guess I'd better get back to work. I'd rather be on here chatting it up with you guys.

I have seen the Minnie doing hula but it would not let me save it so I am looking for it but not sure exactly where I should be looking. I love all your ideas for the cruise. Do you make your own magnets?? How is that done (I am telling you I am useless... I am a good learner but have no idea where to start)

My girlfriend that I went into the city with Sunday got some bad news on Monday. She is 36 years old and was told she has breast cancer. It's been a hard week for me, but obviously harder for her. She has 3 young children. The surgeon has scheduled her for a masectomy next week. Please send prayers this way. It is going to be an aweful year for her, but then, God willing, she will be a survivor.
It's all I can think about right now.

I'm at work so I'll PM you later with a full sized one. Not sure if the one on photobucket is full sized or not.

Many of my graphics come from zazzle.com or just from googling using image.google.com. If the picture is save-protected I'll try to see if I can find something else to use. But if all else fails and it's just something personal I'm doing (i.e., not going to buy the shirt or something) then I'll do a screenshot and import that into Photoshop and go from there.

As for making my own magnets, I haven't yet, but the process doesn't seem all that difficult once the image is made. Not sure if I'm going to go buy several sheets of the magnet paper (that you can put through an inkjet printer) or maybe just a few of those business card sized ones with the sticky front and I can cut them up and just use them in the corners of my documents. I'm trying to decide whether or not to laminate them.

I may also put my room number or something on the back of them becuase I've heard that they sometimes get "lifted" from your door, particularly the better ones. I'm not saying I'm a great graphic artist or somethig but I know I love the spoiled rotten and rum ones and I'd hate to see them get lifted.

Hope that's enough information to get you started. There's a thread (under the DCL forum) regarding cruise magnets. There's some great ideas in there. Grab a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage and sit back and enjoy!

Longtime reader of the Dis, but just joined. Thanks for all the great info. We will be cruising with another family ( non Dis). Would love to meet everyone at the meet on Sat and sure my kids will run in to all the others at the clubs. They are very excited. I will definately send prayers! Thats really tough! But at least now there is a better survival rate and although she'll go through alot, end results should be good. Just remember, there's a reason for everything!

Oh, how difficult for you and especially her and her family. But Colleen's right ... the survival rate these days is phenomenal!! I don't know if you know (or if I should mention a "competing" board) but Deb Wills of AllEarsNet is a cancer survivor, I think. I know she does a lot of work and fundraising stuff for cancer. I wouldn't doubt that she might have links to places that can provide support for your friend and her family and friends right now. It's definitely worth checking out. Tons of prayers and pixie dust heading your way!!!!!!

What is the Yankee Swap?

The "Yankee Swap" will be at our DISmeet onSaturday at 2 PM in the Promenade Lounge. Briefly, it is a bring a gift - get a gift kind of activity. Everyone who brings a wrapped gift is given a number starting with #1. The number 1 person chooses a gift , opens it, shows it to all and is done for then, Then #2 chooses. The only difference is that #2 can then keep his/her chosen gift or "swap" the gift with #1. And so it goes - #3 can keep his/her choice or take from #1 or #2. Each number can take from all the numbers before them. At the very end, when all the gifts have been chosen, #1 gets to take ANY gift from anyone. It's a lot of fun to see where the gifts end up.

The value of the gifts we are bringing will be no more than $10.00. They can be a cruise, Disney, beach theme, something special from your hometown, or anything else that you think your new friends would like to receive. Families can decide to bring one gift from the whole family or each individual member can bring a gift. Gifts will be categorized as "adult/family" , "teen" or "child". Whatever category you bring a gift for is the category you choose from. So, for instance, you bring an adult gift and choose an adult gift and your DD brings a child's gift and chooses a child's gift. Way back on this thread (many pages ago) we decided this would be a fun way to get to know each other, we hope you'll join in the fun!

We'll be doing the Dune Buggies at 10:30 am - i think there's only one time - in Cozumel and will also be doing the 7:30 am Shipwreck Reef Snorkel in Grand Cayman
I'll be doing the spa (wrap) at 9am (i think) on Key West Day - want to lose all those extra inches from all the weight i'll have lost on the Cruisin' and Losin' challenge - i think i gained 2 lbs BTW
I've got the rasul scheduled for the first at-sea day and a couples cabana massage for Castaway Key
We weren't able to get palo, but that's cause i wasn't sure i wanted it and by the time i figured i should just make a ressie, there were none left
