April 18 2018 booking BWV

Hi! I am planning a trip with DH DD and DD for April 18- 22 2018. We are planning on registering for the Star Wars 5K (super excited)! I am assuming since it is a race week reservations will fill up quickly. Our home resort is BWV and I would like to book a studio standard view. Is there a way I should go about making the reservation so I can greater my chances of getting the standard view? I know that this category fills up quickly. Should I book day by day? Still new to the process so if someone has any suggestions I would appreciate it. Thanks!

So I would book April 18 on April 11? And then 19th on 12th and so on? If that is correct can I do it online every day or do I have to call? Thank you very much.

i was able to get a garden view studio at about 8 months out for that exact time frame this year (april 18-22 2017). I do believe that the standards were not available at that point in time. I would imagine if you book exactly at 11 months you should be all set. I think that this year for that week is like the perfect storm -- Easter week, Spring Vacation for many and the dark side marathon. Next year at least easter will not be the same week. I believe walking the reservation would be booking it (the entire trip) at least a week ahead and then each day calling to move it up by adding a day and then dropping a day. There might be a thread on walking.

There is some risk, though likely minor, you could be blocked out exactly 11 months out for a BWV standard view studio -- if it arises the most likely way it will happen is that at exactly 11 months out from that Wednesday, the Wednesday may fill very quickly after the online system opens at 8 a.m. In other words, the winners may be those whose computers communicate the quickest with Disney's computer.

The walk that uses the same amount of points and provides the highest protection to assure getting your dates would be to book April 12 to 16 on May 12 and then call daily thereafter, dropping a night at the beginning and adding one at the end, until you have the dates you want.

Although daily calling is unnecessary - most especially since DVC does not send standard view rooms over to CRO so no competition from them.

Thank you! I was looking to use the exact number of points and not have to borrow any. I have exactly the number of points left in my 2017 UY for this booking. Which I think is pretty crazy! (And cool)

I think it's to your advantage that you want to arrive Wednesday. I would bet a lot of people will want to check-in Thursday.
