April 16th, 2011 -Western Caribbean

Yikes! $277 one way?????

We are staying at the Country Inn and Suites- we have stayed here before and we like the proximity to the port and the price is right. The rooms are nice and can fit up to 6 people and they have a continental breakfast (complimentary) in the morning. It is just enough to tide you over til you get on the ship and have lunch!

Are your parents going on the cruise with you? My parents are cruising with us!

This will be our 2nd Disney Cruise. Our last one was a three night...soooo excited for the 7 night! IS IT APRIL YET???!!!:cool2:

BTW, I have a DD 17 and a DS 11. DS is a little shy. If anyone has one about the same age who is into sports and video games (baseball/basketball and modern warfare), let me know. Maybe they can be "penpals" and have a friend to "hang out" with before we even get there.

My DS is 11 now, will be 12 when we sail. He also loves sports and video games. I think it would be great if he knew someone beforehand. I don't know how to send the private message for details, perhaps you do?

Hi All,

We just booked this cruise today! :cool1:

We are a family of 4.....my DS will be 7 and my DD will be 5 1/2 when we go in April. We are leaving out of Boston but have not booked our flights yet b/c prices are OUT OF CONTROL. I am hoping that they will go down slightly in January but waiting until then in order to balance the budget a bit.

We are very excited. We are on the 7th floor deck and we can't wait.

There is WAY too much information out there and it is overwhelming, but I have a long time to get ready.

Hi Erickson99!

Pleased to have you aboard. Feel free to ask any question you can imagine. Some of us have cruised with DCL before and are more than happy to assist.
For example, did you know that you can request a specific dining rotation? I have the rotation that put's my family in Lumieres for formal night and Parrot Cay for pirate night.pirate:

Dueley...In the top right corner of your screen, check your private messages. I sent you one yesterday.

Got our cabin assignments already! Wow!

Maybe we got them early since I booked this in December of 2009?

I thought I was pretty Disney savvy. However, I did not know about requesting a dining rotation. Can you tell us how one would do that?

Thank You!!!!:cool1:

I am curious about the dining rotation too. We are on 2nd dining at 730pm. We got our cabin assignments as soon as we put the deposit down. We'll be in 7052.

Merry Christmas to all our future shipmates. I am looking forward to sharing many good times with you next spring.

May all your wishes come true this Christmas.

God Bless!

OK is it April yet? My daughter and I are going to make a countdown calendar for the cruise. Something to hang on the frig and see everyday. We already started talking about things we need new sunglasses, sandals, etc. We have booked to stay at the Country Inn and Suites as well. Should be a fun night before we all head out.

Just wanted to check back in and say hi to everyone. Have a Happy and safe New Year!!

A countdown is a great idea! I have been telling DS that we needed to get through Christmas to focus on Easter break! Well here we are.

I booked treatments the other day!!! Cannot wait!

My family of 5 plus my parents will be going on our first cruise in April to Western Carib, and we are so excited! DD will be 15 on day of departure (4/16), one DS will be 2 wks away from 13 and other DS will be 9. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I particularly like the idea of having the kids possibly contact other kids their age prior to sailing via penpal or email. If anyone is interested, please let me know.

Hi Mommy681,

Did you advise anyone about the birthday? They will bring out a cake and sing for you if they know about it.

Hi 681...I am glad you like the idea of getting some kids in contact with one another before the cruise. My son Greg will be one month from 12 when we sail. I think he and your son will be in the same "club". Greg has already had some contact with a boy Jon who will be 12 at the sailing. Does your son have a FB or XBOX live account? You can reply to my email if you would like bmmcd1998@yahoo.com. If you do I can send your son Jon's contact info too (with his Mom's permission).

My DD (8 in April):wizard::wizard: and I booked this cruise a few months ago--just figuring out all this DIS stuff. We are new cruisers and really looking forward to this. We'll also be with my parents.
Kim
