April 16 2005? Eastern Magic? 4/16/05

without sounding like an over-protective mother, I'm not sure about DD posting on a public forum yet. I have not thought about it and think we need to have a discussion first. However I'm addicted to these boards as you can tell :teeth:

Sue

I don't think you are being overprotective... I was planning to log on with my son while he reads posts and wants to reply. He would do everything with me by his side. I don't let him enter chat rooms, or surf the internet yet. He doesn't have his own email address either, which is why I suggested the post. It sounds like your DD, since she is older, has more independence and can email friends on her own yet. I am sure there are other older kids who she can chat with!

My dd(12) emailed another Dis'rs granddaughter for a few months before the cruise. DD just used my e-mail addy & I would let her know when she got mail and we would read it together and reply back...she would love to exchange e-mail for this cruise. My e-mail is steff01@hotmail.com and my dd is 12 (will turn 13 at Castaway Cay) and loves swimming, tinkerbell/fairy stuff, freedom of going to watch movies on the Magic. :flower:

oh, we also scheduled our excursion for St. Martin...Captain Nautica snorkeling/speedboat. :earsboy: :teeth:

Hi Guys

Been a while since I've been here. Well only 79 day to go.

I didn't realize you can make excursion ressies 90 days out. My DD8 and DS6 have been talking about nothing but the Doubloon Cruise. I didn;t want to get locked out. I was able to sign up for it today.

Hope everyone is having a great winter.

David

We almost booked the Doubloon cruise! It sounds like alot of fun! but then my husband found out that the Captain Nautica went to two seperate spots to snorke, Honeymoon Bay and turtle cove and spend about 2 1/2 hours in the water instead of 1 1/2 w/Doubloon...but my kiddo is older and wanted the extra snorkel time. I think they are gonna come back wiped out! :teeth:

I hope to do the Doubloon when my ds (3) is older...another excuse to rebook onboard :cool1: :wizard:

We are still unsure of what to do in St. Martin. We are thinking Orient beach on our own or just do Great Bay beach near the ship and shop a little. Anyone have plans for St. Martin?

Take care! and looking forward to that drink of the day

My kids were as excited about the boast ride as they were about snorkeling. My DD wants to "walk the plank" . They are good swimmers who are not afraid of the water but snorkeling will be a new experience for them.

We haven't figured out what to in St Martin. I promised my wife she can shop. I am thinking the butterfly thing or maybe a beach. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It's 1oF here right now I could use the drink of the day about now.

David

and plan some excursions before they are booked!!!! Although I just read tkd_lsa's trip report about how they didn't do any excursions on port days and it sounded heavenly. I'm thinking about Orient Beach as well for St. Martin. time to make some plans!

We are thinking about the dolphin encounter...any idea if it books quickly? It's quite expensive which might sway people away from it. My son loves whales and dolphins and we've been saving for a year for this vacation so I'm not going to worry about costs! I'm just worried about not getting it! We are pretty sure we're going to rent a car on St thomas and probably go to Coki beach & magen's bay...has anyone done this?

We're thinking about taking a taxi to either Coki Beach or Magen's Bay. I read on the St. Thomas message board that Coki Beach has a lot of trash on it, such as old tires, so we'll probably end up at Magen's Bay. I'd love to hear from anyone who has gone either place. :flower:

We're thinking about the Golden Catamaran on St Maarten and one of the St John's Beach & Snorkel trips. We did the catamaran on St Maarten last year (land only vacation) and it was a blast. Everyone had fun - young and old. My kids can't wait to go back! I've never been to St John and hear it is beautiful - and we need a place where DH and DS9 can snorkel while DD5 can play on the beach! Has anyone done the St John excursions?

I sent you an email with my contact info so we could get the kids together but I found out today the send failed. If you want to send me your email/phone # we could set something up.

 Hi Fellow cruisers!

I was wondering if you guys had an ideas or suggestions on what I can do to celebrate my dd's 13th birthday aboard the magic. I was thinking maybe decorate the stateroom or ???? I know on the night of her b-day they will have a cake at dinner but just want to do a little something special since she will be an official "teen" :faint:

:flower3: Thanks guys!!

Are you sure you don't want to take a cab? There are lots of them and they are cheap. Have you ever driven on St. Thomas before? It is a nightmare. "Wrong" side of the road and hills like you've never seen before. If you have driven there and want to do it again, you're a better person than me.

Our favorite beach is Sapphire. It is on the other side of the island but it is clean and has everything there.

Anyone planning on going over to St. Johns on their own. It will be myself and DS14. Looking to share a cab ride over the ferry on both sides. Did this the last time and it worked out great.

Princess Daisy,
Will your DD wear a birthday hat? Maybe you can give her one as a present and if she wears it throughout the day, she sure will get lots of attentionfrom CMs and well wishers. I've seen cute ones that looks like a birthday cake.

Another thought is if Golden Mickey is on birthday night, perhaps you can get herself an interview spot and wish her "Happy Birthday" then it'll be broadcast in the theater.

Sue

Hi Sue!

Wow those are great ideas! :goodvibes I would have never though of her wearing a hat or the interview for Golden Mickeys...Cool Beans!! :cool1:

If she won't wear the hat (as I know my DD would not) maybe a T-shirt or just a button. The special attention she would get would be memorable!

Thanks Patriotsfan! She might be more willing to wear the t-shirt :goodvibes I know she will have a great birthday...how can you not when it will be on Castaway Cay!! :teeth:

How are the trip planning going everyone? Our plans are coming together! We will be arriving thur night and staying at Embassy Suite then Friday off to check out Cocoa Beach and stay at Radisson. We are renting a car for the drive to Cocoa and hubby will return it day of cruise. We will have southern elegance towncar pick us up after the cruise and take us to WDW for two days at the Yacht Club :earsgirl: then back to reality on Monday evening as we head from to San Diego... :sad2: that last flight is soooo long, sigh!

Take care!

Our plans are all finalized!!! (nothing left but the WAITING!! :rolleyes1 ) We leave Massachusetts on 4/13 and start driving. Should be in Virginia pretty easy by the end of the day but would like to be in North Carolina. On Thursday we try to make it to Florida (or at least close). Friday we check in to the Radisson. We have a day left on our Park Hopper passes from last year and want to use them up before the cruise so we will probably spend the whole day at WDW. We're hoping to meet up with any other DISers at the Radisson the night before the cruise. On Saturday, of course we are on the SHIP  !!!

Excursions????

St. Maarten...Golden Eagle Catamaran. (I can't believe I watched "Open Water" last night) :earseek:

St. Thomas/St. John...the Trunk Bay Beach and Snorkel, and shopping of course for my DW and DD

On CC we are going to go for a bike ride and the usual snorkel thing. ...maybe, just maybe a jetski rental

We head home right after we get off the ship (kicking and screaming).

Well the Pre game is on for the SUPERBOWL and I have to go watch...
I heard the commercials aren't going to be as good as in the past but the game should be very good!!! See ya all later!!

GO PATRIOTS!!!! :cheer2:
