April 14,2013 Dream 4 Day...

Hi fellow Disneyphiles ! :)

Myself, my DH, DD(15), and her girlfriend will be traveling with you.

This will be my families 3rd cruise, but my daughter's friend is a newbie.

We've told her of the awesome time she will have with my DD in the Teen Club the Vibe. We have warned her she will be ruined after this. :goodvibes

She will come home looking for the "ready made" food, room service, and the Mickey ears.

I thank the Disney gods that they provide the Wave phones. I would be on the edge of my seat all cruise without them. It gives me piece of mind to be able to find the girls, even if its just to see what's up. They are happy it gives them a little freedom.

Just booked through Comfort Suites at Nassau to go to Atlantis. If anyone is thinking about going to Atlantis and doesn't want to pay the DCL excursion rate, I highly recommend booking through Comfort Suites. We did it before and it saved us a lot of money. The current Disney price for our family of 4 (all over age 10) for the excursion is $676 and the price booking through Comfort Suites is going to save us just over $300. pixiedust:

Can you tell me about booking the Comfort Suites..I am looked at their webiste and did not appear any cheaper than booking through Disney.
I have 2 adults, one child (9) & one under 3, so with Disney he is free.

Thanks!

I just checked--because your children are younger than mine--your "savings" is probably a wash. The DCL Atlantis Aquaventure price for your family should be $453--which includes transportation and lunch. The rate for a room for your family booked through the Choice Hotels website is $371.12 (including taxes). A "difference" of $82 but you'd have to pay for transportation there and for food while you're there--so you are probably better off with the DCL excursion. My kids are both over age 10 so we would pay $676 to book the DCL excursion--a difference of just over $300 (and I know transportation and food will cost WAY less than that!!). :)

Have you been to Atlantis before? It's really neat! Obviously nice enough that my family all agreed that we want to go again. My daughter and I were watching TV this morning and noticed that the latest "Kid's Bop" commercial was filmed at Atlantis. It was kind of fun to see it and say, "We've been there. We've done that!"

Thank...I think I will just book through the ship.
We have not been to Atlantis yet, on our last cruise we did the Dolphin @ Blue Lagoon, but my 9year old is excited for the waterway & the kids area looks good for my little guy.
We are excited for April to get here!

I talked to several fellow cruisers when I went on the Dream April 2011 school vacation cruise. That is what this cruise is now.

We did the same 5 day/4 night cruise :cool1: and then were crazy :) enough to do two days at WDW after. It was NE school vacation and Easter weekend it was crazy busy.

They fellow cruisers did the Comfort Inn day pass and went to Atlantis. They found it very busy people wise. A little crowded for their taste.

Friday night April 12th starts - Sunday night April 22nd is New England school vacation. You just might want to keep in mind that alot of people may have the same idea.

But, hey, everyone is different; some people don't mind alot of people and some people rather have less crowds to feel relaxed.

I found reading on the blogs that Sheraton has the day pass to use their facilities. They have a beach front and several pools. It is inexpensive and so is bus fair. You can come and go as please.

My teenage girls just want sun, beach and sun. So, for us, it is better just to spend a small amount of money to go the beach for a while and then use their pool and showers to get rid of beach salt.

As much as I love all things Disney, I find that the pools are a little small, but tht is a small thing to me because the rest of the cruise makes up for it. Stage shows are awesome. Fireworks neat. Food great. Palo's is marvelous. Cast Members are wonderful.

Thanks for the info on the Sheraton, I think we will stay with Atlantis as this is what my 9 year old son wants.
We are flying down tge Thursday before as tickets were too high to fly over the weekend from Boston...so we will hit Disney for 2 days & Cocoa Beach for 1.
We are excited to try the Dream, as did this same cruise on the Wonder in 2010.

Did anyone snag a Canaba for Castaway Day..I did online check in last night @ midnight & they were all gone :(

Nope. I forgot about reservations until about 7 a.m. this morning--didn't make myself a note last night. But I didn't want a cabana anyway or anything else I needed to get up early to get.

I did get brunch reservations for Remy on sea day. :thumbsup2 I didn't even know it was an option and was all ready to book Palo brunch (which we've already done on the Dream). It costs a lot more ($50 pp vs. $20 pp at Palo) but I'm excited to try something new.

I looked at the Brunch but DH said he prefers Palo dinner as the days are spent with the kids. I was a bit bummed as I liked idea of Remy Brunch but since this trip we are going.without friends I did not want to be eatting alone.

There are still all types of staterooms available (i.e. inside, oceanview, veranda, and conceirge) but not many categories within each--except veranda. Should be nice if the ship isn't too full. Our last time cruising was on the Dream over Easter in 2011--the ship was full but it didn't fell "overfull". This time our spring break is VERY late--which is nice.

Such a small group here --is anyone at all interested in Fish Extenders? I usually shy away from it with a large group but with a small group it's managable! If anyone is interested (or wants to know what it is)--let me know!
I will be on this cruise! It's my first cruise ever! I'm excited!!! I would be Interested in the fish extender. I think it would be fun!

What is a fish extender? We might be interested in doing it, but not sure what it is!

Can't you tell I'm a cruise newbie! :)

I found this website when I didn't know what a fish extender was ( I was supposed to go on a cruise last year but didn't get to). http://*****************/2012/03/13/what-is-a-fish-extender-disney-cruise-insider/
If there is a fish extender group formed for this cruise, you can order one on eBay if you don't want to make one. I hope this helps! :-)

Oh, it sounds fun! Count us in if we do it! My mind is already turning with ideas for gifts!:thumbsup2

Thanks! I'm looking forward to blue ocean and warm sand too sail the stress away from all the planning!! ;)

If this board is a sign of how many people will be sailing with us we may not have a lot of people on board! Do April cruises normally have a lot of people on them?

Are you getting married at Disney?
Well, I've actually never been on a cruise. Maybe it won't be too bad though. I'm just excited!
Ha well apparently I wasn't supposed to make that post about the fish extender. I had like 5 people yell at me (there are some rude people on here). So I deleted it. So if anybody else gets on this thread and says they want to do it, then we will take it from there. I'm thinking it's a little too quiet though. Oh well! It'll be fun anyway! :hyper:

I saw your FE post earlier and feel bad that so many people were mean to you, I have no interst in doing the FE but wish you luck if you guys are start one.

I know that for me, this cruise will be during my son's Massachusetts school vacation week, we did this same cruise in 2009 on the Wonder and had a blast, although that time we went with 2 other families. this time it is just us and our 2 kids.

I have been looking and it appears there are still many rooms open, although the PIF date is not until next week. I know for me, the airfare from Boston was very high this year and almost made me cancel, but then I grab a good deal on air tran and so we are coming down a few days pre-cruise but flying back home the day we get off.

All I know is that since it was ZERO yesterday when I work up, I am counting the days! See you all in April!:sunny:

Yeah I didn't really think there was a reason for people to be mean about it geez. :confused3 I pretty much copied someone else's thread that had no negative comments on it. I would never treat anyone like that. Oh well! :crazy2:

I can't wait! Do a lot of people dress up for the pirate night or not? How dangerous is it in Nassau? I've heard it's pretty bad.
Ew zero degrees does not sound fun. I can't even imagine!
