Hi Skye00, We fly into Tampa on the 11th and renting a car and driving to Orlando - staying at the Royal Plaza near down-town Disney and then driving to the Port the next morning after breakfast unless we find something to do for a couple hours. Don't want to hang out in the terminal with 4 kids all morning. I say, you are brave traveling with just you and your two young kids. Do you know where you are staying the night before - that may determine how you get to the port and back. Welcome aboard. Did you sign your 5 year old up for the kids club? My DS7 Bryan (who is very outgoing) will be in the same age group if you did. Welcome aboard and hope to meet everyone here sometime during our cruise.

Welcome all! Another Northeaster I see. Where abouts in MA? I have relatives all around the surrounding cities of Boston.

Ok--pounds are just not budging. The cold snap isn't helping. I was doing so well walking the dogs every day and then it just got too cold. I will never get the weight off at this rate.

Kellydizfan - I haven't booked a hotel yet for the night before the cruise. It seems like the MCO Hyatt would be the best bet if we are taking a car service to the port. If we rent a car, I'm more inclined to stay near the port. I think the issue is trying to fit the Kennedy Space Center into the return trip. It seems like it would make life easier if I just took a car service MCO - Port - WDW hotels. Thanks for the input though. I have not signed up my 5 year old, but likely will. I was thinking of putting the kids in a couple times and treat myself to some spa time or just a nap by the pool. As mothers we don't get enough of that.;)

We're excited for the trip.

Is anyone interested in chartering a private boat in St. Maarten or St. Thomas? Ping me if so.

Hey, ROIEO1581,

It's fun to see another extended family coming along! Although yours doesn't quite match our group of 36, we've got some matching ages.

Your daughters can commiserate with my niece who has a 2-year-old and an 8-month-old, coming along!

Skuba2-- I think it has something to do with global warming. My pounds are still sticking to me, too! Don't let Greenpeace near me when I'm snorkeling!

Bev

Hi everyone!
I am Roie's (ROIE01581) daughter. DD is 6 and DS will be 9 months on the cruise. DD cannot wait to go back to the kids club. Last time we could never get her to leave, even if her cousins weren't in there with her. We are going to make some door magnets this weekend since I showed some to her and she has already "designed" some in her head. I know I am more excited than her, but only because I know what 7 days on a cruise means!

Nice meeting all of you and hope to "talk" with you more!

Since this is our first time on DCL, we can't make Palo Reservations until Jan 28th. Can anybody tell me what our chances are of getting Palo Reservations then, or will they already be completely booked?

Hi All,

I just booked this cruise for my daughter and I. She is 16 (almost 17) and I was grateful with the fact that she actually wanted to go with her mom on a cruise!

My husband and son are going to WDW in March (the kids have different school vacation schedules), so its just a mom and daughter cruise. We are really looking forward to a great time.

Any one else with crusing with an older child? It would be great for her to meet a few kids her own age.

Hello,

Welcome to all the newbies. I think the ressies for Palo and the Spa are only partially opened prior to the cruise. They do hold some back I believe for onboard bookings. Even if it is booked, you can always call for a waitlist or even call that day. If the seas are anything on the rougher side of life, many people get seasick the first few days and cancel. Keep trying back daily.

Jeanne--I would love a mother/daughter cruise. What fun--especially at that age. My dd is 13 going on 14. She is mature for her age. So, if your daughter can't seem to find anyone to hang out with, there are plenty of girls--including my own-- a few years younger. I think mine is planning on a lot of pool time.

Here's a question for you people who have already been able to reserve things.

Do I need to create a separate profile for each person in my cabin in order to reserve shore excursions, etc? I have registered myself, and when I bring up my reservation at "My Reservation" my hubby and boys come up on the screen. Will I be able to make our reservations as a family, or do I need to do each person separately?

I would ask a Disney rep, but there is currently a 15 minute wait on the phone! What a surprise!

Bev

Welcome, Jeanne 62!

My 16-year-old son is happy to see a 16-year-old young lady joining the group! When is your daughter's birthday?

Bev

Clarification -- My 16-year-old son is glad to see a new 16-year-old young lady who is NOT HIS COUSIN joining the group! :)

Two of his girl-cousins are also 16, and one has her birthday a week after the cruise and will be turning 17.

Bev

Hi Kat,
We are from Rhode Island and Kim and her family are from Mass.
Thanks! That's a great list you have going!

No, you do not have to. When you are able to book, simply select from the family members who the reservation is for.

Kat

Help! I need to know what others have been told. I was told that we could do our ressies at 12:01 on Jan.28, which means midnight the night of the 27th. A Disney rep told me this.

Now, a different Disney rep is telling me it is Jan. 29th at 12:01, which would be the night of the 28th.

What have others been told???
