April 11th 2009 Magic Eastern Easter cruise--UPDATED WITH ROLL CALL PG 1

HI All!

I haven't had a chance to check in since we got home from vacation.

A big THANK YOU to all who participated in the FE! And yes...I do realize that ours was obnoxiously long but I wanted out littlest one to be able to reach her pocket. :thumbsup2

We were on deck 2 in a Cat 9 room all the way forward (2508) and my parents were actually in a room a few doors up from us (2504). We found it to be VERY quiet with no noise from the hallway or running kiddos. You did hear the thrusters arriving and departing from ports but truly, it was NOT very loud at all. The rooms were VERY spacious and had a few more feet than the other Cat 9 rooms due to the location on the ship.

This was actually our 2nd DCL of the year...we went in Jan. And yes....we are already planning another trip for later this year! :woohoo:

We didn't book on board as the Florida Resident discount is actually better than what they were offering on board.

And YES....we ARE going to book for the 5 night DCL next year with a 2 dayer at Castaway Cay.

We were in 1st dining at table 15.

I'm sorry I didn't get to see everyone.....it was quite a task to keep the 2 girls and my OTHER children (husband and parents) all supervised during the week. :rotfl2: We did get to meet some FE delivery folks!!!

We're heading to Disney World for a long weekend this weekend....to help ease us into the real world again. ;)

Thanks again!!!!

Like I said, not fair.....I want to live near Disney World!!!!!!!!!

Ohh yes i did forget to add I cleaned all my clothes and they are already put away. As far as my mom sister and grandma.....not so much! I think i cleaned them all so fast to show them i am ready to go again... SOON!
This cruise was amazing i met some of the best friends i could ever ask for and we still talk everyday even though i am all the way across the country.

anjiellisvt- Thank you so much! Yess i do believe you were everywhere to. I am really not hard to find since i am always in the GIftshop, pintrading. It's what i do best. :rotfl2: I never did finish the alphabet. :[ I will eventually. And you are so welcome, i am always willing to give pin advice!

I did forget to mention i heard a lady on the ship who was standing next to me in a line and she was talking about all these "crazy people" on the ship who do this crazy thing called a fish extender. (she sounded confused.) and they put like disney magnets on their door and they all wear these ugly green colored little disney heads. I had to just stand their and laugh. I then turned around and said a little green mickey head like this? and i showed her and she said yess just like that! So we are the "crazy people" she said i heard about your website where you all talk and meet before the cruise. I thought it was funny.
For all of you who i may not have met im sure you saw me. I was limping the whole cruise with a black knee brace on, hardly able to walk but i made it all week and its seeming to do a little bit better.
Talk to you soon- Rochelle.

Hi returning cruisers

Did you have staggered dining on the Magic, or was there just one early and one late time?

.....inquiring minds want to know....

Thanks!

Early and late sittings...early was at 5:45 late was at 8:30 (I think..we did the early sitting) Obviously you could eat at some of the places up by the pool if you didn't want to be on a time schedule one night.

Thanks!.

Our late seating for dining was at 8:15. We loved it except for the long line waiting to get in the dining room. Our dining rotation was excellent. We had Lumiere's, Animator's Palate, and Parrot Cay. We had formal night in Animator's Palate (which was awesome) and we went to Palo's on Thursday night during semi-formal night and missed Parrot Cay. Our last night's dining and breakfast before disembarkation was in Lumiere's. We loved that dining room!

No staggered times on our cruise. One time for early (5:45) and one time for late (8:15).

Hi All - Finally getting a quick moment to post. Laundry's done, bags are back in the attic and the pictures made it to SnapFish on line (but they haven't been ordered or organized just yet!)....

It was so great meeting some of you (Kelli, Willie, Amy, Nancy) - sorry we missed the 3:00 - wish we could have met more of you - Sounds like we all had a great time!

If I ever get to it, I'd like to post a TR (Kelli - nice job with yours!) - but I'm all caught up in all the end of school year activities and getting ready for summer and summer'round the house projects... maybe one night when I'm having trouble sleeping!...

We will hopefully sail again in two years (DD should be graduating HS then and I'm sure she'd love nothing more!) - we'd like to see what Mediterainian Cruises are out then... that could be amazing - but we'll see....

Hope to "Meet you on a Thread" sometime (or even in a park) - Best Wishes to all...

Remember: "Faith, Trust and a little Pixie Dust!"

So sad that our thread is ending! I will keep checking in periodically to see if anyone has any updates! Hope all is well with all of you!

So glad we did the Eastern. Sounds like the Western itinerary has turned into a mess with Mexico. Would love to do that next year, if things are better.

Take care!

I too am glad we did the Eastern...I loved the ports and the sea days ended up being my absolute favorite!!! We did not really choose this itinerary for the ports but rather b/c it worked with dd's spring break.

Before we switched to this date, we were originally going to take dd out of school for a week and go on May 2nd!!! We had to change our plans for family reasons and I'm kind of glad now...however, I personally would be more excited about the Nassau stop than Cozumel only b/c I've been to Cozumel, never been to Nassau, and I'm dying to go to Atlantis!

I guess we are finally settled back into reality here. Sad, but true :) However, I've already started saving for the next Disney vacation! Right now that looks like it's going to be a cruise, but I've just got to keep watching the deals that are coming out to see what works best for us...I know we'll have fun whether we are on land or sea - just as long as we're with the mouse! :goodvibes

Hey everyone, just a little update as we are settled back into reality.
We are all unpacked and back to our normal lives, although i have had the worst time being back. I feel liek nothing can ompare to the disney cruises. The weeks i have had on those cruises are truly amazing. I still keep in contact with all the wonderfu friends i made on the cruise. It's a good thing that keeps me going each day. As soon as we got back i told my mom i needed a vaction to settle from our vacation so this past week she suprised me and were doing a last minuite DLR trip in a few weeks. (We think).
Time for me to go get more pins! I'm so sad to see this board oming to an end so quickly but i guess it has to at somepoint. We however are looking into a Med. Cruise since we have already doen the eastern and western and the Mexican Riveria. I'm missing all that unlimited food. Jus think new families are all boarding tomarrow! How exiting for them! Talk to you all real soon.
~Rochelle

We're still eating candy from the FE exchange:cool1:
Thanks again to everyone!:)

Princess Row - Hey Rochelle, which Mediterranean itinerary/dates are you guys thinking about? We are thinking about it too! Let me know. Tell your mom and grandma hi! Myles misses playing in the pool with Isabelle!

Amy

Amy- We havent even really looked at dates all that much. We have been looking at more the cruise itself. I believe we are going to Disneyland memorial day weekend- hopefully. Nothing is planned yet. My mom and Grandma both say hello. Isabelle wants to go back so bad, I think the pool was her favorite part! :rotfl2: All that money spent and she enjoyed the pool! She misses playing with Myles too. Maybe that Disney Magic :wizard: will work someday really really hard and all the friends we met will live close by. I hope everyday!

Hi Rochelle! Please tell Isabelle that Morgan says hello...Morgan absolutely loved seeing Isabelle in the kids' club and playing with her at Castaway Cay. We have a couple cute pictures of the two of them. If you'd like to have copies, PM me your email address and I'll send them to you. How are you doing with the alphabet pins? I have looked for them on eBay a couple times. I had never heard of them before you mentioned them and I think it would be fun to have the letters of Morgan's name. She got her first lanyard on the cruise and some pins. Not sure that she'll be into the trading thing, but she seems to be really excited about her new collection of pins. Well, take care and tell your mom and grandmother hello, too. I enjoyed the times we ran into each other and chatted :goodvibes

Amy

Amy, are you thinking about one of the TA cruises or European cruises? I would love to do a TA cruise, especially the Westbound one...I love that they go to European ports and some Caribbean ones, too...just hate it that it has to be right at the beginning of a school year b/c I don't feel too comfortable about taking my daughter out of school that long :sad2: ...if only she were a little older maybe I would feel okay leaving her with grandma so DH and I could have a romantic vacation together! Oh well, maybe once the new boats are out...

Kimberly

Kimberly- Isabelle LOVed the kids club too. She loved playing with Morgan also, that pool was her favorite spot. I'm going to see my mom and her tomarrow i will definetly tell isabelle. As far as the alphabet pins.....Welll i have 16 i believe. Since we dont live on the east coast i will only be able to trade with people rather than in the parks, which is a bummer but i hope to finish them. When i go to Disneyland in 14 days (and counting) i will def. look for any letters in her name. My pin collection wil grow even more while at disney, maybe ill run into some pin freaks! :rotfl2: My mom would love those pictures so i will send you my email address and forward it to her. Thanks so much! P.s ill talk ot my mom and see if she got any pictures and try to forward them to you. ~ Rochelle
