My family visited the Magic Kingdom on April 10th. The trip was a "testing the waters" experience for my wife, in-laws, and our 14-month old daughter. We spent several days in Tampa sitting by the pool and generally relaxing. I should preface this report by stating that my wife and in-laws were not big Disney fans and were very apprehensive about taking our daughter. Luckily, the day went so well that everyone can't wait to go back in a year or two.

We arrived at the TTC at roughly 7:30. We were able to park right up front and did not need to take a tram. We arrived early because I was concerned about Easter crowds and a Monday at MK. They opened the monorail at about 7:45 and we were in front of the MK train station at 8:00. We immediately hit Fantasyland and literally rode everything by around 9:00. There was virtually no one there. We also picked up FPs for Philharmagic. We then had our pictures taken with Mickey, grabbed Fastpasses for Splash, rode Pirates, and made it to the Crystal Palace for breakfast at 10:40.

Our daughter LOVED the character breakfast. My 14-month old daughter has developed a fascination for Pooh. As soon as she saw him across the room, she kept pointing at him. When Pooh came over to the table, she gave him a big hug and started kissing his nose. There was a look of complete and utter bliss on her face. All of the reservations my wife and her mother had about going to Disney instantly melted away and they were hooked.

By the time we left breakfast, the park was packed. My father-in-law and I used our Splash FPs and it was almost impossible to move over by Splash and Big Thunder. After Splash, we watched the 12:30 parade (nothing special and very short), and then used our FPs at Philharmagic. Our daughter was getting tired so we called it a day and left the park at around 2:00.

I can not say thank you enough to everyone here for all the great advice. I also have to highly recommend Tour Guide Mike. We were there on one of the busiest days of the year and we waited no longer than 5 minutes for anything. My in-laws kept joking that I must have worked at the park at some point. My wife even aknowledged that all the time I spent reading things on the Internet really paid off.

I guess it's time to start planning the next trip.

Welcome to the DIS and thanks for posting a Trip reports. I take it that you have been to WDW before. Isn't it something how the magic works, especially when you knew some of the best tips to make it special. Glad you had a great time.

I believe POTC opened on the 8th and will remain open until later this month to accomodate the Easter crowds. After that, it will remain closed until July (don't quote me on that) to finish the Jack Sparrow additions. I didn't see anything new when I rode it on the 10th. The initial phase must have been a general refurb.

As to the earlier question about my own Disney World experience, I had previously visited in 1988, 1993, and 1999.

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for posting.

Your little princess must have been so cute with Pooh. I hope you got some great pictures.

Thanks for posting.
