Hello everyone! Happy Thanksgiving. I thought I would check in as it has been awhile. I have been working on making my FE gifts, I hope everyone likes them.

This morning I just realized that we are going to be sailing on the 100th anniversary of the Titanic sinking. Intersting huh.

I hope all is going well, I can't wait for this cruise.

We are doing a pre-trip WDW vacation, staying at Pop Century.

For the new folks - there is a Facebook page that has been created for our cruise called CastawayCrew. It tends to get more posts than this thread does.

I know what you mean about the weather Linda.Our first day of school in September we had bad flooding and school was out for the first 3 days. (And we have not even had the winter snow yet.)

Its been awhile since I have been on the Disboards....but we are just about 4 mont'hs out from our cruise so I thought I thought I'd check in. I am part of the FB group as well. I love the holidays and love the fact that when we get through them its a "cruise" to the Dream. This will be our 3rd spring break cruise and we are looking to book our 4th one for 2013, a 7 day western. We have opted not to do the FE this time although we loved doing it last year. Packing is just too difficult with all the fees and luggage limitations. last year we sent a box down to the ship and after the cruise we stopped at a shipping store on our way to our post cruise trip to WDW. This year we are flying home right after the cruise so no way to get to shipping store. We are doing a 4 day pre cruise WDW stay at CBR.
I am traveling with my mom, DD (16) and DS(12). My daughter is interested in FBing fellow teens who will be on the cruise. She has done this in years past and it has helped her find friends before hand. Last year she loved her time in the teen club Vibe and almost 1 yr later maintains correspondence with several of the kids she met. Send me a PM if interested in sharing FB info.
Well here's to the holidays and the countdown continues!

Happy New Year everybody! Only a little over a few months and then we are off. I need to get my FE stuff started, so I was checking out the list that is posted on the FB page. I am assuming the cabins that are in bold are the only ones participating? If this is true, it looks like there are 21 cabins in all with a total of 33 children. Does anybody know when the cut off date for participating is? Sorry for all the questions, I guess my new years resolution is to get organized....we'll see how that works for me : ) sorry if this post is redundant, I also posted on FB the same thing. I hope everyone has a good safe time tonight.

I am not on FB so I don't know if the list has been updated or not but I had to pull out of the FE list and mentioned this several months ago. If someone can remove me from the list I would appreciate it. I had to drop out because of lack of funds because of work. I was disappointed but at least I can still go on the trip.

I will check to see if you are on the list, if you still are, I will unbolt you. I am glad you still are on this cruise. Last year was definitely a strange year with budgets and stuff at work. Let's hope things are better in 2012.

Hi everyone
I just realized that I hadn't subscribed to this meet even though we've been booked since December 2010.
I just paid in full last week so that I was able to book my Palo brunch reservation. The cost of the cruise fare today is now $1,800 more for the same cat than when we initially booked it

I'm travelling with my DD15 and DM.
We're staying in cabin 8184, which has been changed to a 5E by DCL when they reviewed the cabin cats back in October.
We'll be staying precruise at Saratoga Springs DVC Villas.

Right now the return airfares to NY and the car rental prices are ridiculously high. So I'm waiting for the prices to fall.

I've also sent a pm to join the FB page.

We've done the double dip cruise twice on the Dream. The first was last April 2011 during a 4n cruise when the aquaduck broke down,so they let us stay in Castaway Cay another day.
The next was last August.
On both cruises the beaches were alot emptier the second day, so it was easier to find hammocks and shade and beach space.
Now that the holidays are over and the deadline for the cruise balance is coming up I look forward to seeing more posts

I think our group is small enough to keep the group together and not split it up.

I am getting really excited to get on board. DH is waiting to finalize a business trip that he may have to go on Monday after we get back -

I paid in full last week and the web site allowed me to book reservations.
If you are a platinum castaway club member you can book from 120 days before sailing, a gold member 105 days and silver from 90 days.
Everyone automatically becomes a castaway club member after their first cruise with disney.
Silver Castaway Club member: after 1 cruise
Gold Castaway Club member: after 5 cruises
Platinum Castaway Club member: after 10 cruises.
