April 10 2010 Disney Magic EBTA "Bound for Barcelona" - Part 5

Hey Linda, I can't PM you, maybe your box is full. Anyway,we ditched Panama and are doing the LA- Vancouver repo and the first Alaska. Want to join us? Sorry we weren't able to see you off Saturday morning. We had breakfast and then sat in the Cove til Mickey said 'get offf my ship' @ 0930.

Dennis got a terrible cold on the way home too, like several other people. He still is sniffling.

We had a great time. It was fabulous to cruise with friends.
We'll sign off on this thread and transfer to the LA-repo and Alaska cruises, so...Cheers, Jennifer and Dennis

I loved all the sea days! I would be happy if I never got off the ship!

I totally agree. DCL could make a stop at CC and then cruise around the Bahamas/Carribean without ever going to a port. That would be heaven to me. Can we have a 7 night with the only port being CC?

I also understand about the single supplement prices - ouch. I'd love to do an eastern or western carribean cruise, but the cost puts it up there with the EBTA. Well, other than the plane fare that is.

Kristi

We are finally back after 25 days on the Magic. We had a great time meeting everyone. It was so nice going into a room and seeing someone with a lanyard on and going over to introduce yourself to them. I want to thank the people who helped make this a special cruise- Lynne, Michelle, Stepahnnie, Krisann and the rest of the 363 Disboarders on the TA. My highlight was dancing on the stage with Clayton- something I thought I could never do after having the double knee replacement. I want to thank the people who arranged the private van tours we took- they were great! The TA people we missed you on the Med. Hope to see some of you on another Disney cruise. We tentatively booked the Panama in Jan.

Who rebooked something onboard? I booked the Panama Canal but it is a bit much for me as a single. So I don't know if I'll keep it. I am really thinking about the 2011 WBTA. I loved all the sea days! I would be happy if I never got off the ship!

Totally agree. We inquired about several cruises while on-board but didn't follow-up; received a call at home to book, with on-board perks. Booked 2011 WBTA just to give us time to think about it, but we may very well keep this one.

DH listens to the ship's horn on YouTube almost every day...he's still in mourning!

Welcome home! It was great fun to watch you on stage with Clayton and a pleasure to meet both of you!

I am curious about how they handled the B2B transfer of so many people between the two cruise. Tell us the story, please!

I found my DH a ship's horn ringer for his phone after we returned from our cruise- he LOVES it!!

Maybe that will help your DH feel better..........

Count us in the group who are (tentatively) now on the WONDER for the Panama Canal to LA, as well as the 2011 WBTA. BUT - we're also researching Alaska, so the only thing for sure is we'll be aboard sometime(s) next year.

It was great meeting you guys as well, forgot you were doing the B2B. We're so jealous! Maybe see you on the Panama Canal?

we had no trouble going from the TA to the Med.We did have to get off at the terminal and get another key card. It was a simple process. We then got back on the ship. It was like a ghost ship. The only thing open was Cafe Cove, but then the new people started getting on and things came to life again.

Welcome back!!

Please pm me your email address...I was able to take a few pics of you dancing w/ Clayton (I'll be sending them to him this weekend :goodvibes).

Both John and I came home sick with sore throats and coughs. We are now on antibiotics. From reading the posts we are not the only ones. John started on the Med cruise and i got it right before we got off the boat. However we had a SUPER time

Hi, Brack, glad to see you're also safely back in FL. We hit the lobby about 5, but I guess your family was long gone.
I got the near 1500 photos into the computer, but now I need to learn Photobucket, I guess.

We left at about 3:30AM! :scared1:

Photobucket is really easy .... try it. :surfweb:

We booked a 4 day on the Dream next February and a July Alaska cruise.

DH, DSIL and I booked the August 16, 2011 Alaska cruise on the Wonder while onboard. I am really excited about this trip. To be honest, it was a gift from DSIL (can you believe it? SOOOO Generous!) and DH and I will be celebrating our 5th wedding anniv. Lots to look forward to!

 I hope everyone who came home sick (like we did) is getting back on their feet. Transitioning back into normal life still doesn't feel quite right!

Just wanted to pop in to say thanks to everybody in FE group 1 for the wonderful goodies and also a big thank you to everybody who left us birthday and anniversary cards!!! You made our trip so special...

I'm sure we only received a call because we requested a quote on the last night at sea (dropped the card in the request box and received a response in the stateroom the next day-never spoke with the CM handling the bookings).

The call from DCL came within the first week home. My husband answered, but like the wonderful and very intelligent man he is, told the agent that he would have to defer to me (at work at the time) but that we would definitely be interested. She then dummy-booked the next EBTA and emailed the info to us. We even received a confirmation in the mail, with 5 days to place a deposit. We then talked it over, decided to book the 2011 WBTA instead (to buy some time, but also because we're truly interested), and emailed her to make the change. I just had to log onto DCL's website, pull up the res., and charge the deposit. We were given our OBC and 10% discount. Very simple, and the transaction couldn't have been more pleasant.

Just got home late last night from 25 nights onboard the Magic as well. I came home with that same sickness...but thankfully, it was on the very last day too. Sore throat, sinus congestion, head cold. I am just so thankful it was at the very end as we were leaving!
I was ready to come home, but had a fabulous time! My son, was NOT ready to come home and is missing the Stack counselors alot.

We were affected by the Dublin flight cancellations on May 5th, so besides leaving a day later, we still got home on the same day as originally planned, just about 8 hours later...not bad.

Suffering from jetlag BIG TIME....went to bed at about 7 (didn't mean to), woke up at 1:30 am and am now wide awake. Of course being sick hasn't helped....:(
It was so great meeting so many great DISers! We are not booked on any future cruises, but I hope that one will be in our future before too long.

I'm sorry so many of you got sick. I am thankful it bypassed me. Hope everyone is soon on the mend.

Glad to see there weren't too many ash cloud travel problems. I see it's spewing again. Hope it doesn't affect anyone this time.

Lauren, love your new avatar photo! I didn't even have one of those on the ship. Too many other wonderful things to try!

Just a reminder that we have a group album -- http://gs154.photobucket.com/groups/s263/NL5HKEGPLS/ password is the name of our 4/18 port. Feel free to upload your photos there -- I only uploaded 700 or so :rolleyes1

I am STILL having a hard time getting used to real life...A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who have made this cruise such an amazing experience for me. I hope to keep in touch with you!

It appears Lauren and I are on the same Alaska cruise next year :)
