April 10 2010 Disney Magic EBTA "Bound for Barcelona" - Part 5

As far as I know-you will NOT have to pay a fee for your Philly to orlando flight for luggage...it should be considered all one flight-international.

Have a blast everyone!! I am super jealous!! (and sitting at work dreaming of the Magic) My very first Disney cruise was in 2007-the Med cruise that left from Barcelona for 11 nights....and i LOVED it....so wish I could do the transatlantic!!!! Have fun and soak it all in!!!!

:goodvibes

HELP!!!!

Big question that I just thought of and I hope someone that's still on here can help.

we've got a USAirways flight to Philly with a connecting flight to Orlando, and I know that on international flights, the first checked bag is free. However, is also says for all flights the first checked bag is $25.

So my question is: Since it's all one reservation, Barcelona to Orlando, are we ok or will we have to pay the checked bag fee for the Philly to Orlando part??

Not sure why I'm JUST NOW thinking of this:confused3, but any help or info would be awesome.

Sorry, but we're losers here. I asked USAir long ago. The Orlando flight is domestic and we have to pay for checked luggage. And then there's the fact that we can't check in online. That will cost an extra two bucks. (It's $23 if you pay for checked bags at online check-in and $25 if you do it at the airport. USAirways group ressie rep suggested that I check in at the counter and ask for the lower fee since their systems couldn't accomodate online check-in. I may try but don't expect success.)

I worked until about 3:45. Now I'm home trying to decide which suitcase to use for my checked bag. Guess it's time to make up my mind.

Tinked...Agent said counter at Philly opens at 4:30am. I opted to stay on my original flight so my daughter wouldn't have to be hauling me up the road that much before dawn. See you at the port.

---Didn't anyone tell you? :scared1:

The itinerary changed ... and the ship sets sail a day early (today)! We're on Deck 10 as I speak ... but will have to get ready for the Safety Drill at 3PM. Better hurry!
:rotfl2:

Very funny!:banana::banana::banana::banana::dance3::dance3::dance3::yay::yay::yay::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

:laundy: all done. I'm in the middle of my packing. I keep taking breaks to rest. :rolleyes1 At this rate, I'll never finish. Most of my big stuff is packed in my packing cubes and ready to put in my suitcase. I have never used them before but I think I like them. I don't have any unsteady stacks of clothes. They are all nice and neat inside the cubes. I need to go pick up my DGD in an hour or so from the bus. Then we're meeting her mom for a last dinner before I leave. I needed to see them one last time. Will check in again later...

Wait until you see how fast unpacking is.:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I think she means Barcelone to Orlando in which case she shouldn't have to pay from PHL to MCO as already checked the luggage in BCN.

Sorry, I'll miss waiting with you but I will see you at the port. Bon Voyage

Did you know there are at least two Disney stores in the Orlando airport? We are walking through the airport "mall" after eating dinner and ice cream. Back to the hotel soon

Worked until 6:30 (wanted to get out at 4) to come home to find the cats broke glass all over the bedroom!! Cleaned that up and got to my parents house at 8:30pm. Pups know somethings up.

So officially on vacation.

I thought the same thing but I still had to pay Delta the $24 a bag.

I did it.... I got packed (under 50lbs) and got to the airport with everything. Now we are at the hotel in the airport and ready for tomarrow, after a 4 hour nap. Anyone else in the Hyatt, we can do our Cruise checkin here at the Hotel in the morning, have our bags picked up and bypass the lines at the Cruise terminal.:cheer2:

I am so jealous of everyone who's already there!!! :goodvibes I just finished packing, I think. So, now I watch a little TV and set my alarm for 0400! I don't know how much sleep I'll get as I usually don't go to bed until about 0100, anyway. We'll see...

See everyone tomorrow! Good travels!

We are flying now... scheduled to land at MCO at 11:30-- Towncar service bringing us to Country Inn & Suites... Hope the meetup is still going on! :rotfl2:

You should be jealous of us. Arrived at MCO at 3:30 - made the Walmart & grocery run - got water for DisneyHeather but totally forgot laundry detergent for a month of cruising. The temp is warm - good omen for CC?

But you guys coming over the bridge tomorrow will have the Magic sitting there, all pretty. There were no cruise ships of any line in port today.

ringing us to Country Inn is still going on! :rotfl2:

Oh no, hope someone was downstairs. We went up about 11:30 - the packing still continues with the stuff from Walmart.

Already got to meet grlzmom, Brooklyn, Happy Goofy, dizmomof2 & RealDizdadOf2, dizdadof2, kileybeth, bound2travel, disneymum2201, ibouncetoo, mommyto3princesses, and PrincessMonkey & Dr. Dave. It's possible I left someone out, but I'm getting sleepy.

I will be on a Disney cruise for the next few weeks so if you don't hear from me, that's why :)

So excited to meet all of those that we did tonight!!!

The lanyards look AWESOME! YEAH!!!

Looking forward to meeting everyone else tomorrow.

GOOD NIGHT!

For Brooklyn to say that, the lanyards must NOT be lime green. lol

Looking forward to meeting everyone at the port in a few hours.

We were almost under limit yesterday & had to scramble at the last minute to avoid $90 fee...yuk.

For anyone using a luggage scale, hope yours is more accurate than ours -- we were coming in 4 lbs heavier on everything!!

:scared1:

Also have seen tv reports that showed the airline's own scales are, shall we say, a bit "weighted" in their favor. You think they're being nice when you're at 52, and they say "OK", but you're probably at 49. Then, when you're right at 50.7, wham, that'll be 30 bucks, please. Just sayin . . . . And you can ask them to put it on a different scale, see what that one says. Mine weighed in at 47 on both my travel scale and on a (certified by the state weights and measures) doctor's scale, then showed 49.7 at the airport. Must have been dust or dirt on the wheels <grin>.

OK, dw is out of shower, car's packed, leaving for Wal-Mart/Publix/and where was that? Oh yeah BARCELONA, via the MAGIC!

Anyone still reading, any small last minute need (not "wants", needs:goodvibes:), feel free to call 973-462-4134 in the next two hours. MJ, you never answered about mouthwash.

and there you go, my last post.

We are in Animal Kingdom Lodge just waiting to take the bus to port! (I had to get one post in on thread 5!)
