I just got an ipod touch for my b-day and plan on bringing it to WDW for looking up menus. I was wondering if there was an app that I could use to organize my trip.
I didn't know there was an app for menus. There is a really good thread around someplace that has links to get theme park music, but I am not sure which board its on. Maybe the podcast board??????
We used all the park map apps and the DTD one. I think they were $1.99 each? Its pretty cool because when you are actually in the park, it will locate your exact position where you are standing. Kind of freaky! You click on the attraction or the restaurant then it will tell you all about it. Plus the restaurants will take you to allears I believe so you can check out the menus. We thought that was great. Worth the money for us.
I was waiting for an ADR at Sci Fi Dine In at DHS and I downloaded the menu app and looked it up from my seat outside on the wall - instead of getting up and walking inside to look at it in person. Pretty cool!!

Which App is that? I'm thinking about getting an iPhone when my upgrade comes up 6/10. We leave for WDW 6/20 PERFECT timing. DH thinks its just too cool "your phone can be a level". LOL
I'll be all over these boards for the Disney Apps if I get it.
if you get either the ipod touch or the iphone there will be an icon for the app store. you just touch it and then search under disney... only problem is, it's a little addictive; i have the planner, menus, maps, trivia game, tinkerbell fairy game, and the card games. so far. but at least the kids and I are entertained in lines!

No, I believe there is no wi-fi in the parks (or really anywhere in WDW).
I think the interactive maps are for iPhone only (require gps).
I found a good menu app called WDW Dining, under "Travel" in the app store. You do not need wi-fi to use it.
I just got an itouch, too - I find it unbelievable that there is no wi-fi anywhere. I mean, I'm a 42 year old housewife - not exactly on the cutting edge of technology. It seems like Disney World could at least be to my level of technology.
Regarding the park music - on my iTouch I have an app called "Tuner" (looks like an old radio), and through it I can play music from www.subsonicradio.com (when I'm connected to WiFi).
(You can play Subsonic Radio through your computer too!)
As for Disney specific apps - I'll be looking - there are a few map apps, but they cost money, and they don't work as well with the iTouch 'cause of the lack of WiFi in the parks...
