Once you land, get luggage and grab shuttle or rental car - can anyone give me a rough estimate?

We'll be landing around 9:00 PM PST (which will feel like midnight to my crew) and I was wondering if we'd be arriving in Anaheim closer to 10:30 or later in your best guess....

Given the hour, I wouldn't expect it to take longer than 30 minutes once you finally leave LAX. Allow 40 minutes and you should be at your hotel.

I over-estimate time.... But I'd rather feel like time was over-allotted than have anxiety that I'm "late" in my expected timing.

Land at 9pm. Off plane, baggage claim, out to pick up curb at 9:30-9:45 (variables include your gate, potty stops, and how far you must get to your baggage carousel). Then there is the transportation variable, as you may wait for a shuttle, or have no wait for a shuttle, or need to get the rental car. I'd go private shuttle (*not taxi*, which is about $100+ per way). Then loading up and driving, I'd expect another 45 minutes. Traffic shouldn't be bad, obviously, unless there's construction going on. I'd expect, just to be safe, a 10:30pm-11:00pm arrival at your hotel, assuming you are staying near Disneyland.

Of course, it could be earlier... Or depending on the weather, could be much, much later! (I had a flight from San Jose to SNA delayed once, on top of a large delay out of PDX [our originating airport] as there was a large storm system up and down the whole coast. Our 10pm hotel arrival was 1:30am-ish.)

Thank you for that estimate - I plan to use a private shuttle, unless my DH is already in the area for work and has a car rented and picks us up.

According to Google Maps, it's about 40 minutes from LAX to DLR without traffic, which fits with what I remember when I took SuperShuttle last year (it was about 45 minutes from when we left LAX). Depending on your party size, I would also consider using a private shuttle. I took SuperShuttle's shared van service (it was only $17 per person), but it took us 90 minutes to get to DLR (the first 45 minutes was spent picking up other passengers in LAX and the second 45 minutes was taken driving to DLR). I didn't have any luggage, so I didn't have to do that step, but if you did, then it could easily be 2 hours or so before you get to your hotel if you use a shared van service.

If you are taking a shared shuttle plan to be at your hotel at midnight. That's what happened to us. You can also compare uber's rate.

We usually fly into lax. Although it costs more money, we have kids and can't be sitting in a shuttle for so long.

Ideal conditions with no traffic it is 40 min from driveway to driveway.

Plan for an hour and you will be good at that time.

If you arrival time is 9:00pm...by time you get off the plane, get bags, rental car or shuttle then drive it will be 10:30p best case to your hotel.
