We are being "bombarded" with graduation party invitations for this coming weekend. :teeth: Some are from families that we really don't even have connections with other than church. We can't possibly attend all of them, so we will have to narrow it down. But my question relates to gifts. Are we obligated to give a gift to each graduate that invited us, whether we attend or not? And if so, what would be an appropriate gift for each of them? Help!! :)

Thank you!! :grouphug:

I personally think it's tacky to send out graduation invitations to people you don't know very well. It's just kind of like asking for a handout.

I wouldn't feel obligated to send a gift at all unless it's someone you know very well.

I would just send a card to those that you don't know very well. As a matter of fact that is what I have already done. It lets them know that you are proud of them without having to send a gift. I can't afford to send a gift to everyone that sends me an invitation. I had a person to send me one who I haven't seen in probably 9 years and I have only seen the parent once in the last 5 years or so. To me, that is just asking for a present.
