Our family, me, dh, dd,(6) and ds(4) are leaving for WDW POR at 7am this Saturday 5/14/05. 34 MORE HOURS!!!. We are frantically packing as I write. I'm just not sure exactly what to pack. We are going to several Character Meals for Dinner. Also have PS (or whatever it's called now) at Whispering Canyon, Boatwrights and Prime Time Cafe. Does my husband need to bring collared polo type shirts or are t-shirts okay? What about tank tops? Shorts are probably okay but is it better to wear long pants at night? Will we need jackets (lightweight) or sweatshirts in the evening? I've never been to WDW so I really have no idea what is appropriate. Thanks in advance!

Depends on your plans. Maybe one pair of pants and one or 2 polo shirts. One nice outfit for you and kids if you plan to go to dinner at one of the nicer resort restaurants. I dont think you need a jacket, I just checked the temp at the Swan and Dolphin and it is currently 73 at 930 at night.

Bring your summer clothes and swimsuits. Shorts Tees tanks are the norm.

I usually think of it as: If the resturant is IN the park, it is definately Park attire. If its 90 degree's out that's a tank top. :sunny: For some of the Resort resturant's almost all are "resort casual, but If its an evening meal 8 or 9 pm for husband and wife and its still 80 degree's out a polo collared shirt is usually fine with kakis, for all but the "fanciest" of resturants. If your eating at victoria and alberts you will need a suit and dress. ;)

I've seen shorts and t's at Jiko and Cali Grille. Even though they ask for "resort casual", there is no actual dress code enforced. Unless you plan on eating at V & A's, where they have a jacket and tie dress code inforced, dress however you feel comfortable, you're on vacation. ::MickeyMo

I just wanted to say,, we are right behibd you. We also leave the same day but our flight is at 9am, comming from Pittsburgh, and we are also staying at POR! Enjoy your trip... I was basically bringing for my gals, capris if cold and 1 sweatshirt, the rest are shorts and tees,, hubby has 1 pair of jeans that he is wearing down and rest are polo type shirts, i think 1 botton down for when we go to st petes beach after . I am briging the same as my girls... I just need to get the packing down and my house cleaned since I am having somone stay here and take care of my "other babies (4 legged)! :rotfl:

I live nearby, and I would definetely recommend a sweater or jacket or something. Our closets boast several overpriced sweatshirts etc purchased for windy evenings in Epcot, at the Boardwalk and Fantasmic that we didn't expect.

Also, the air conditioning in the restaurants can sometimes be too cool.

Unless you feel like dressing up, you won't need any fancy clothes for the restaurants you mention. When we were at WDW two weeks ago, we wore shorts during the day and jeans in the evenings (mostly to keep from getting bitten by bugs), and took a sweatshirt or pullover with us.
