Appropriate age for Hannah Montana Concert?

I am taking my DD 8 to the concert in Worcester on Saturday. She is so excited about it. I have spoken to her about how many people will be there and how loud it will be. She is going to enjoy it and is counting down the hours. I have to say, that I too got questioned about bringing her to the concert. I think partly because of the high publicity of the tickets (I think they thought I bought them from a scalper), but I was one of the lucky ones to score them on the presale day!

I say, bring your daughter and go have a GREAT TIME!!!

My daughter, 6, loves concerts! She has been to see the Jonas Brothers twice and we are surprising her with Hannah Montana tickets at Christmas. Concerts can be loud, so if you are worried about that, just bring some ear plugs. Its a lot of fun!

The only ages that were actually standing up singing along to the show were the 11 year olds and older. My opinio is you sell them and take her shopping with the money you get from selling them. This is just NOT true. I took my 3 girls to the same concert in Cincinnati and I didn't see ANYONE covering their ears. It was a bit loud at first, but they all got used to it and seeing the JB and HM brought them right out of it! My youngest is 5, the other two are 12 and 13 and they all loved it!! Go if you can!!

I was at the Cinci concert as well, and it was loud as I'm sure all of Hannah's concerts have been. My sister and I took my girls and laughed each time Hannah/Miley said, "I can't hear you" or "Make some noise." But I was prepared and figured it would be loud and brought some small earplugs for my 4 year old. It's a concert...of course I expected the music/stage show to be loud, but then add the demographics of the crowd that I knew would be there and it's going to be extra loud.

Definitely a great first concert for my 4 and 6 year olds!

I also agree that isnt too young for this particular show. I saw lots of young kids (boys too) and their moms singing and dancing together..it was really cute. I took 2 11 year olds and a 13 year old who enjoyed it alot but there were all ages there

We took dd(6) to see Hannah in Toronto. It was a fantastic show and dd was by no means the youngest girl there. The show realy was geared to the young female audience. I saw nothing inappropriate and dd is really protected. I do try to make sure she is a kid and that is exactly why I wanted to take her to her first concert.

I am sure you will have a great time and 8 is not too young. I took my daughter to her first concert when she was 8, we went to see Hilary Duff in Ottawa and she had a great time. I had a great time as well. I often take her to other more "mild" concerts in the summer (she is 11 now), such as coldplay and INXS. She enjoys them and so do I.

I took my 9 year old daughter and three friends of the same age. They LOVED it and stood and danced and screamed through the whole thing! I had a great time watching them and taking pictures of them. There were plenty of girls from my daughter's school going, including quite a few first graders. So I don't think your daughters are too young to enjoy it. We were all the way in the back and up top...and it was loud...and there were some kids who had their hands over their ears. I think it just depends on the child. My son, who is six and watches the show with my daughter, would not have enjoyed it because loud noises bother him more.

Not to dig up an old thread, but we went and while typically, my DD hates loud noises- when the kids first started shrieking, she went to cover her ears and then realized- she couldn't hear if she covered her ears! So instead, she put her hands down and started singing and dancing along with everyone else. We had a BLAST.

A group of my girlfriends and I went to see The GoGos recently. The girl we took with us was 11 but we saw lots of younger girls too. I think if it is a positive, age appropriate show it is fine. HM is geared at the 9-12 year old crowd so 8 is not ridiculously young.

Congratulations on the tickets. I know people who would die to be in your shoes.

I took DD 5 and she had a great time. If you think she is old enough who cares what others think!!
BTW -we did take PJ's to change the girls in the car and they fell asleep immediately-not too much after their egular bedtime.
