Approaching so fast!!!

We are also driving down but starting on sat. the 20th. We live in vancouver, wa. Husband always drives straight through, we will start in the evening sat. and show up sometime on sunday. We have 3 kids ages 6, 4, & 1. This way most of the trip the kids will be sleeping.
We have a dvd player and will be doing a marathon of disney movies that have to do with the parks. I also will be packing lots of snacks, a case of water and little activities for them to do that I have been collecting at the $1 store and the $1 section at Michaels.

We are so excited, first family trip, cannot wait!!

We are driving from Oregon too! We leave the 18th and are spending our first night at Stockton then driving from there. There are so many friends of my kids that are going as well. Here I thought I was crazing when thinking about taking my Oregon ducks shirts.

hmm I don't have an oregon shirt, hmm maybe I will have to put that on my list to buy!! ;)

thanks for the tips!

We are doing the Jelly Belly factory too.

What day of the week are you driving down? You should know that, while Jelly Belly gives tours 7 days a week, the factory isn't in operation on the weekend. I took DGD6 on a Saturday tour, and she found it totally boring -- just the empty shop floor and videos describing the operations. I'd try to plan the Jelly Belly tour on a weekday.

We will be doing the tour on Friday. I had read that they don't do the live tour on a weekend. Thanks.

Another Oregonian here --- driving down on Sunday the 21st! :) Girls trip: mom, me, my sister, and DD age 7. DDs longest car trip has been about 4 hours. My sister, mom and I are used to driving to Ohio from Oregon (I did it every other year since 1976 til 1992!) My DH thinks we are crazy and is not even thinking about trying to want to take time off work to go with us :). I think DD will be fine. She got a ds for Christmas and never has time to play it. Has DVD player too. My sister wants to create & put together her college grad announcements. We are in Bend --- driving down 97 as far as we can, then over to I-5. We are doing a full day down, full day back. Doing our sightseeing in LA hopefully!

A cooler w/ drinks for everyone, bread and supplies for PBJs, paper towel, facial tissue, baby wipes, portable game systems, dvds, and maybe a kid's map for the older one to follow along with as you drive. It will be fun and educational.
