Today I have come to appreciate DVC all over again. We decided to spend a few days over at Universal this Christmas so I just reserved a plain (and probably small) room with 2 queen beds at the soon to open Royal Pacific Resort and it is going to cost $199 per night PLUS taxes, etc. (end up around $228 per night).
Before and after going there, we will be at BWV in a nice, large one bedroom with kitchen and everything else for a measly 32 points per night (premier season). Even with the $10 per point yardstick, that would only be $320 (no taxes, etc.) per night for so much more!
Moreover, the more directly comparable studio room at BWV would only be 16 (standard view) or 19 (preferred view) points and those rooms have a mini-kitchen.
Love DVC!!!
