Appraisals for houses

For anyone with recent experience on getting an appraisal on their home, how many days did it take from start to finish? For instance, from the phone call you made to request the appraisal until you actually got an answer?

I can't quite say but it was FAST for us.

It really depends on how busy they are but typically it takes about a week or so.

I recently read an article which said that it can take longer to get the appointment for the appraisal, since so many appraisals are being ordered these days, (foreclosures, bank refinances, etc.) It seems that the last time we had an appraisal, it only took a week or so, but be prepared for a longer wait in this market. I hope it goes well for you!

5 months here, but it more due to red tape with the finance company than anything else.

most try to contact you within a week then a week after the appt. And of cousre sometimes they are given a deadline by the lender. most apparisers I know try to contact the next day. So they can give the appt time to the lender.
