Applying after College Graduation

I really want to participate in the DCP but it is difficult with my major. The best bet for me is to to apply for the semester after I graduate college. I would be applying for the Fall Semester. I have already talked with my advisors and they have told me that I wouldn't get any credit for it anyways. I am mainly looking foreword to the social interaction and building up skills that I may or may not have.

I have read on the website that you can only apply when enrolled in college. My biggest fear is that I will get denied when I apply as a senior. If my biggest fear turns into a reality, is there any chance that Disney could allow me to reapply for the Spring semester if this happens?

Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated! :thumbsup2

Thanks!

No they won't but you can take underwater basket weaving at a local cc and be eligible to apply. Isn't unheard of.

My daughter graduates next week and starts the DCP in August so I know they won't deny you just because you'll be a college graduate when you start the DCP. Good luck!

This is what I'm doing. I graduated last May and didn't get accepted then, so I enrolled in the local community college. I'm taking self-defense, but any throw away class at community college will make you eligible to apply.

Thank you for your timely suggestions. Taking a community college course seems like the the best option.

You are only allowed to enroll in the program if you are in college but that does not mean you need to BE in college during DCP.

You are allowed to be part of the program AFTER your last semester in college. You just have to apply and get picked during your last semester.

That's what I did. I applied in Spring and I got accepted for Fall 2014

I thought the same thing (HAD to be in college) but thank god I started chatting with a CM and she told me this)

I applied for the Spring 2013 CP which was the semester after I graduated and I got accepted. It's all in your interview process. Don't try to be fake and sell yourself, just be natural. Best of luck! :)

I think in a lot of ways this is the best way to go.I know that if you are over 21 you have more maturity here and less issues involving alcohol.A couple of my sons room mates were graduates and they seemed to do well.

Instead of taking a "throwaway" cc course, I recommend taking something that might prove useful in Florida like an entry level Spanish/Portuguese course, a culinary course, or something along those lines. If you're spending money on the class might as well make it useful, right?

My DD did her program post-grad. Luckily she got in. And extended once. She had previously tried unsuccessfully to audition her way in.

For her, it was a dream come true! And it seemed like an ideal buffer between college and the real world.

With my major, and my scholarship, I can't take a semester off for the CP even though I really want to participate in the program. This is probably going to be my only option, I'm glad to hear that it is possible and that people have gotten in after graduating.

Very good to know! But around here, classes such as "self defense" and other throwaway type classes (even Spanish 1, etc) where anyone can enroll at the local college are offered as "Continuing Education Courses". I thought you had to be an actual student to apply for the DCP?

this is my new plan! actually, i want to apply as a PI and apply for the cp as a backup. i just want to get my foot in the door!

A lot of friends who graduated from college are attending the DCP. They aren't concerned about school since they already graduated which is nice!

You have to be at least a part time at an accredited university/college. So if the local college counts it as you being at least part time enrolled, you're good.
