AppleCare+ for Ipad

Do most people on the dis go through someplace like SquareTrade for their extended warranties on ipads, or should I just get mine directly through Apple (which at the moment is only $10 more than Squaretrades? Honestly I am considering skipping the warranty altogether, but it is pricey and will be taken lots of places, so I thought I should at least consider some extended coverage. Also, since the ipads currently have a 2-3 week ship delay, if I go with SquareTrade, should I just wait until I have the product in my hands before ordering the warranty through them?

I would feel more comfortable going through apple, but that is just me. Their customer service has been great!

Just make sure what ever you get covers accidental damage to the screen.
Otherwise I would not bother. apple has great customer service. Of the many different apple products that we have owned, several have had mechanical/ manufacturers problems that occured after the warrenty expired that were taken care of by Apple at no cost to us.

Invest in a good cover! We have apple care on our iPhones and my husbands home key was giving him issues, I walked into apple, showed them and walked out with a new phone. I'm glad we had it.

Does AppleCare include accidental damage now?
That's really the only part I'm ever interested in and I usually only get it for the kid's electronics. They only time I've ever needed it was for a busted iPAD screen and Square Trade handled that very well.

Apple has always replaced our iPhones when we've had battery issues or whatever just under their standard warranty.
