Just craving some of this stuff. I live in Buffalo, and almost NOWHERE but Buffalo can you get really awesome Buffalo sauce - nobody does it "right". ;)

But Applebees does an incredible spin on Buffalo sauce - it's thick, but it tastes just like the real deal. My mouth is watering - I need some. :teeth:

I've never had it at Applebees, but I live in Buffalo (Hamburg) too. I usually equate good wing sauce with Frank's Hot Sauce- gets my mouth watering every time- and I don't typically like spicy foods.

Then you have to get to Applebees and try this stuff. It tastes like Frank's, but it's thick. Like when you put it on a chicken finger, it sticks like a dip. It is soooooooooooo delicious. I think I gotta call that Carside to Go hotline right now. ;)

Actually, there is a gallon jug of buffalo wing sauce that restaurants get and I'm pretty sure that it's Franks.

I just looked through my restaurant recipes cookbook, but it doesn't have the recipe for that. The only thing I can think of that might make it thicker is using oil instead of the traditional butter.

I love their sauce too!
Have you tried this dip? It is to die for! I made it for my party tonight and it was gone!

Buffalo Chicken Dip
2 (10 oz.) cans chunk chicken, drained
2 (8 oz.) pkgs. Cream cheese, softened
1 cup Ranch dressing
¾ cup Franks Red Hot Sauce
1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

Use cut up celery and/or tortilla chips to serve with it.

Heat chicken and hot sauce in skillet over medium heat until heated through.
Stir in cream cheese and ranch.
Cook, stirring until well blended and warm.
Mix in half of shredded cheese and transfer the mixture to a crock pot.
Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top. Cover and cook on low until hot and bubbly.
