Hi, everyone. Has anyone been successful in hooking up their Apple TV or iPad (I have both) to the TV in the room? I'm staying at AKL Jambo House. Thank you in advance!

Sarah

Mine would not connect to the wifi lately (but it's old). I believe this can happen in hotels where one is required to acknowledge on their browser that they wish to log in. I bought a Roku stick and it asks specifically about connecting to a hotel TV with no issues.

If you do manage to hook up the AppleTV (newer ones may not have the same issue my old one does), then you can use screen mirroring on your Ipad to cast to the TV.

If you have a HDMI/lightning cable you can hook your ipad directly to the TV, but the major streaming apps won't work.

The other issue I have had specific to AKL is that the wifi is too weak in some of the rooms for streaming. Don't know if they fixed that now that they want everybody online at 7 am to book rides.

tvOS 15.4 which was just released will allow you to use an iPhone/iPad to perform that additional step to connect the Apple TV to the WiFi.
