Wonder if it means there will be discounts I don't think they ever have sales do they? I am buying Macbook Pro and will find out Friday I guess

I bought my macbook pro last year on black friday... I believe the savings was less than $100. I think for things like ipods and certain accessories it was a small percentage, tops maybe $20. So yes this is one of the few times a year you will get a discount at the apple store, but don't set your hopes too high.

Thanks for the heads up, I guess anything is better than nothing. It is for my son and my daughter will be home from college so we can use her ID to get an education discount as well.
Forgot to say that I have spoken to a salesperson already and if you are a student or teacher and purchase the Macbook Pro you get a free printer and something like $65 off the 3 year apple care!!! not too bad a deal.

If you are buying a macbook the better deal is at Best Buy where you can get a $100-$150 giftcard with purchase of a macbook or macbook pro, only problem with that is of course at BB you can't configure the laptop but if you were planning to buy it without changing anything then it's a good deal.

As far as ipods, I'm looking for an ipod classic but I'm not expecting much from Apple on BF, the "sales" they've done every other year for BF haven't been much at all, amazon will probably still be a better deal.

Last year, the deals were 5% off which is the same deal you can get with the education and govt discount all year round so their sale isn't much of a sale on black Friday. We ended up buying through MacConnection for a lot less.

Wow! Apple is usually pretty protective of their brand. That honestly shocks me that TJ Maxx will be selling ipads.

We are in the market for 2 Macbooks for ds & dd for Christmas. When I price them I can't get a better price than through Amazon. They do a discount off the base price, plus no tax. That adds up.

Must vary by store. The e-mail I got from Apple said "Stores open at 8am, or shop online all day." Doesn't matter to me, cause I'll be hard at work on Friday away from the mad crush.

I wouldn't expect any major sales on ipod/iphone/ipad during black friday but expect some good sales on mac computers

The store is in the mall which opens at 5:00, my friends hours that day are 6:00 to 3:00 so I am assuming thats when they open?

I agree (the govt discount for us). Although I'm waiting for the iPads to come out with the camera before I buy one for my husband.
