My mom just rented from Apple Scooter for our upcoming trip after I saw many positive comments about the company on here. She just looked at the company on the BBB website and saw that they are rated an F! Wondering if she should cancel her rental and book one through another company...

Are you sure it's the same company?

I've rented from them and were very happy with the service and the scooter.

Since WDW only chose five providers to allow to do business at Disney resorts, I can't imagine they would have chosen problem companies.

That's what I thought! I double checked and it is the same company that is a preferred Disney vender. Same address and phone number. Rated an F...

I prefer Yellow Scooters over Apple or any of the other Disney preferred. Yellow is cheaper.

If your staying off-site and have to put the scooter into a trunk make sure it breaks down into 4 pieces or more.

Many of the scooter with high backed seats only break into 2 pieces. The seat and the rest of the unit.

Thanks! We are looking at preferred venders bc we are staying onsite and it would be helpful to have the scooter there and ready to go when we arrive. We will only be using monorail/bus transportation.

We used in them in 11/2012 and had 3 broken scooters in 24 hours including one breaking down in fantasyland during MNSSHP...wdw helped us get it to the front, game me a scooter to use for the night and vip seating to the parade. Not to mention they delivered it to POR instead of POFQ. We ran into 3 others using apple with equally bad stories.

Once we got a working one it worked great. They gave us credit for the disaster and we used that towards a rental in March 2013. That rental went fine. This time everyone seemed happy with them when we talked to them.

I think they've worked to clear up their service issues. I'd use them again.

Wow, we've used them several times and never had a problem. We've had them deliver to our resort both onsite and off. In fact, we did a split stay this past Oct/Nov and had them deliver my mom's ECV to Westlake Town Center, then pick it up over at RPR at Universal Studios a week later. We've always spoken with Alex. He's a very nice guy and has given us a discount for being returning customers.

When WDW first started the preferred vendors stuff, I remember reading some threads about some people having problems, because they were a little overwhelmed, but have not read anything negative about them lately. I think they finally got things settled down. Anyway, we are using them in a little less than two weeks (May 10th-20th) and am not concerned.

I went to look at the BBB review for Apple myself. You can get an F rating for reasons totally unrelated to how you service your clients. Read the Reasons for Rating and you will see this rating may not necessarily mean anything. For example, if BBB can't determine how long the business is operating that could get an F. If you read on to the complaints section there is listed only 4 complaints in two years and they are closed complaints. Three of them involved product/service issues and 1 involved a billing issue. Closed complaints are resolved complaints.

Personally, I've used them for many years and we never had any problems with them. There were a few times we were even allowed to keep a scooter for extra time at no cost to us. I think this involved having the scooter already there at the resort. We will continue to use them as our number one choice for a scooter at WDW.

Thanks for the input! She's going to keep her rental with them. If some bad reviews start popping up before our trip, she can always cancel a few days before we arrive. I have read more positive reviews about Apple on these boards than any other company.
