Apple Scooter

:rotfl2:just got back from my trip and had a scooter rented from apple for 8 days. Well I would say I had a great experience with them. My scooter wasn't holding a charge real well when at epcot on the 3rd day. I called apple he said he would have somebody there in 20 mins meet them down by the gate. Well in 14 mins he was there with a new battery. We put it in and scooter was still having issues. He pulled a upgraded model out of the van and said no extra charge sorry for the trouble. now thats what I call customer service:thumbsup2 This was my first time renting a scooter since I had knee surgery 8 weeks ago and loved it!!! I would not have made it walking right now. And I saw no need for a light on the scooter. The first one didnt have one and the second did but I never turned it on. I dont were a light on my head when walking the parks so did see a need for one riding on a scooter next to my wife.:rotfl2:

thanks for the the review. I have ordered a Apple Scooter for this Saturday for 10 days. I hope my experience is as good as yours...

Great to hear of the good customer service! I was thinking the same thing about the light since you can see just fine walking at night, I would not bother with bringing the bike lights as pp mentioned doing.
Good to know that they do have some with lights now......was it a larger model?
I have yet to reserve one for my Oct trip, mainly because I am trying to decide between the smaller and larger models since the battery life is longer with the larger model although I think the smaller might be better for the easier manuevability.
Will be my first time renting a scooter :confused3

I have rented previously from 3 different companys....

In 2007, I rented from Scooterama.... 1st day in the parks, it dies on the hills at AK... it didn't arrive fully charged! After charging it, ran ok.... however I did have a problem with it lunging forward and then slowing down.... never called the company because we were only there 3 days and most of that was already over.

In 2008, I was gonna go with Scooterama again, but heard about Buena Vista and decided to try them. I asked for a 4-wheeled version but got a 3-wheeled... decided to stick with it... also had problems with it lunging and then completely stopping. This time I did call and had a replacement within an hour. Unfortunately, it still lurched, just not as bad. I at this time decided that it was me causing it... I weigh 280 and they say that they are for weight under 300, but since I am close I decided next time to rent a heavy-duty model.

Skipped 2009....

In 2010, I was planning on renting from Buena Vista again, but then read about the Dream from Orlando scooters and decided to try that.. however, that was when the contreversy on Dreams and buses came out... so I did more research and heard about Apple being so much cheaper than others... $$$ won! I rented from Apple. I was completely satisfied with them (with the minor exception that I expected a captains chair and got a regular one). I had none of the jerkiness that I had experienced with the previous rentals and my scooter was waiting for me when we arrived and I had asked it to be delivered by the next morning!

I have already placed a rental with Apple for this Sept.... $140 for 5 days, including insurance, and this is the heavy duty model. I looked at the page for All-stars and while they are cheaper, there is no option for heavy duty... I will stick with Apple!

Thanks for the review. My mom needs a scooter for the first time on our trip in June and we decided to go with Apple scooter. We got the smallest one since we drive to the parks and I need something easy to break down and put in the suv.

She does not want to use a scooter but knows after breaking her hip last year that she can not do all the walking. I think she sees it as her being an old person needing a scooter. I tell her a person at any age could need a scooter.

Great to read these reviews since I'm looking for one for my mother-in-law that will be going this Oct.

Seems like Allstar is about $20 less than Apple so I might give them a try unless my mother in law likes the Captain's chairs better then we will go with Apple.
