Apple iPod news...new models, lower prices, better screens and battery life

Not sure if this has been posted as yet (I did a search, found nothing new). Yesterday, Apple announced various enhancements, new models and pricing of their very hot mp3 player, iPod. Keeping a hot thing hot. I might look into this thing some day. They do seem popular.......

Thanks for the news. You should definitely look into the Ipod, it's a good thing to have. I have had mine since June and have used it every day.

Zen touch - 20gig...24 hour battery...under $250.
had it for 5 months now...love it

DS and I got an Shuffle for DH's Birthday last week. He hasn't taken it off his neck since he got it!
We got the smaller one for $99, I think it holds 120 songs,so far it's been enough for him. He's so used to listening to the same 40 songs on the radio over and over each day with all the commercials, the shuffle has been heaven for him! DS downloaded the songs DH picked from Imusic, is this where everyone else gets their music for your ipods?
Does anyone know of a brand of headphones that go in the ear that are more comfortable than the ones the shuffle comes with. That's his only complaint, they go in his ears and they are too big, his ears hurt.
If you get one Dan let me know how you like it!

Thanks for the info. Of course they just came out with something better...because I've had my iPod mini for a whole 8 months now! But, they are the only ones that come in the fun colors and I really do like my pink one My DD (15) is one of those iPod fashionistas, she got a pink leather case for her pink mini at the Apple store. I do not feel the need to "dress" my iPod. I mean, good grief, they sell a box of 5 colored "socks" for your iPod mini to wear for (I think) $18! What a racket!

My DH's birthday is tomorrow and I found an open box U2 iPod at Best Buy for about $260. I'd be pretty upset if I'd paid full price for that sucker -- and then saw these lower prices a week later.

I bought my oldest son a Mini for Christmas. They had a sale the day after Thanksgiving for 10% off, so I didn't pay too much more than the new price. That longer battery life would be great though. He is constantly charging his.


But now I'm thinking, I sure would love one myself to download books onto....

There are so many out there, I think you'll have to go out with him and have him try some on to see which ones are comfortable for him. I know my DD wears hers without the cover things on.

DH and DD gave me an iPod mini for Christmas (lime green ). It's the best Christmas gift I've had in a long time. I use it almost every day. Would be nice to have that longer battery though. As far as headphones go, any standard jack headphones will work, so if your hubby has a pair from an old CD player that he likes, they should work with the iPod.

My DD is an accomplished knitter and she made her own iPod sock over the Christmas break!

iPod has had some great publicity and commercials. You have to basically beat people over the head to convince them that the iPod isn't the best mp3 player out there

MP3 is a format these players use.

an iPod is a hard drive-based mp3 player.

And for the sake of your DD, shop around. The shuffle is a bad idea if your DD wants a nice mp3 player that actually has features....

Yup, you can now get a 5 gig mini mp3 hard drive player with photo abilities, line in/out, wma drm, color screen, ect. for about $200

Figures. I just bought an iPod mini less than two weeks ago. Wonder if I can get the store to give me a refund on the purchase.
