Congrats on the iphone!
The 5c will be completely phased out in the fall (according to what I have read on Macrumors.com).
I think your choice for the 5S is a good one.
If you're gonna pass an At&t store on your way, go in and ask if they have any otterboxes or other 5s cases on clearance. I got some nice Spec cases for $5 there! I'm talking corporate stores
TJ Maxx and Marshalls also carry good name brand cases... for a lot less than Verizon (and Verizon will be PUSHING the case)

also.... You can get the phone at Best Buy and save $50.... 5S is $150 at Best Buy

Thanks for your input. I already ordered an Otterbox from Amazon and will have it to take to the store the day I get my phone! No way I'm leaving without that slippery thing in a case and no way I am paying Verizon's price! BB is an hour away and since we are having yet ANOTHER snowstorm here, I don't think it would be worth the drive for the savings.
