We're planning our trip for the 1st week of June. We have thedeluxe dining plan and it's my husband and I that will be ordering. My question is do they scale the appetizer back to be a serving for 1 person or do you get a huge appetizer for each person? We have 2 children under 3, so I'm wondering if they'll be able to eat off our appetizers as their meal or it'll be small.

We were on the deluxe plan in December. the apps are the regular sized portions. DS would get tastes. When we ate at Yak & Yeti DS was able to get his own app & dessert off the adult menu (they are not owned by Disney)
Had plenty to eat.

No they are not smaller in any way. We did the D-plan last year and three adults 3 apps 3 mains and 3 deserts. for 3 meals a day for 7 days.
A ton of food!
its better to me to hit the restaurants that charge 2 points just to help use up the points.
Best advices I can give don't eat snackspopcorn:: and before you go use them for candy bars and take them home for friends. If your driving get sandwiches to go and eat them on the trip home.
the last night we had points left over we ordered meals for 6 people and tried everything but looked like pigs. 6 plates of food in front of you....:scared1:.... I'm sure someone took pictures and were on the net some place as a joke.
good luck:thumbsup2

Thanks! Wow, that is a lot of food! We are there the full day on our 1st and last day, so we have 4 "days" of meals, but we'll be there for 5. And we're doing CRT, so there's only 1 day where we'll have 3 actuall meals. The other days I figured we'd use a snack as breakfast. And since our kids aren't on the plan if we do get a snack during the day, we'll be sharing with them :) oh, and we'll have to share our desserts ;)

Thanks for the replies!

use snack credits for sandwichs. We are driving 16 hours after we leave epcot on our last day and this would be great! How can I do this?

can i swap out an adult appetizer for a side of mac and cheese or steam veggie for dd that is under 3?

Yes DS was 5 when we were there. Its a full sized app.and dessert for him

That was not the case when we were there last February. DS and DD were given children's menus and had to order appetizers (carrot sticks, applesauce cup, fruit punch gelatin or chicken fried rice), entrees (Mini Burger, Vegetable Lo Mein, Chicken Bites or Egg Roll) and desserts (ice cream sundae or chocolate pudding) from it. DD did get an adult dessert but that was only because I did not want one and the server said it was fine for her to order chocolate cake since I was not getting anything.

nevermind I missread something - no worries.

Looks like it's a great deal. We were on the deluxe plan and the APPS were awesome back in November.

My DS10 at the time devoured everything, but my DW did have a hard time with it - we were almost to the point of saying it was too much food.

Mind you we are going again in May, just DW and myself and debating which plan to get - DDP or DxDP. Trying to work out the cost benefit analysis now.

Cheers.

Just because you're entitled to an appetizer, it doesn't mean you have to get one. If you're doing mostly TS on DxDP, you can afford to be "inefficient" and you'll still come out ahead.

We are doing the DxDP for the frist time to, can you order a salad instead of a apptz?
