My beau is about as picky with his food as they come. :sad2:

Can he order an appetizer off the childrens menu with the DDP for TS? Otherwise, I can only think of one thing he'll order off the adult appetizer and that's the nachos (cheddar cheese ONLY) at Whispering Canyon. ::sigh:: I swear, that man needs to broaden his food spectrum a little, but I've had very little progress. :rolleyes2

I'm planning a nice birthday dinner for him at AP because he fell in love with the scenery there at WL and the entrees there appealed to him (meat and potatoes). I hear it's romantic enough, too! :love2: Anyway, if anyone knows the answer to this question, I'd greatly appreciate it. It'd be a nice to know before we go and it's one less thing I need to worry about. :duck:

Generally, restaurants won't object to you paying adult prices for child menu items, so what you suggest shouldn't present a problem.

They recently changed all the kids menus and the only ala carte kids apps being offered at most places are chicken noodle soup and salad with ranch. In terms of adult apps there are lots of things you can ask to have simplified--ie leave off sauces. Lots of places have a shrimp cocktail if he'd eat the shrimp plain. The Le Cellier cheese soup is pretty man friendly (cheese and beer).

ROFL :rotfl: I agree there's nothing wrong with cheese and beer and I only wish my man could be satisfied with that. Let me put it this way: he has VERY immature tastebuds... as in, he would live off of chicken tenders, KRAFT mac'n'cheese, steak and butter noodles for the rest of his life. (And he's going to be 23 yrs old this year :sad2: ) I work in fine dining, so I appreciate all the sauces and different culinary choices. :thumbsup2 I'm only trying to expand his food horizons while trying to stay within his comfort range. Why does he have to be so stubborn, though? :confused3 Thanks for all your support and responses! I can't tell you how much I appreciate them! :worship:

My son-in-law was able to order desserts off the children's menu on our recent trip. I don't see a problem with ordering an appetizer. :thumbsup2

We have just returned from WDW using the Dining plan. We were 4 'adults' one being a 11yr old. When we asked if he could order off the childrens menue for an appy we were told NO. My son would have been happier ordering a fruit plate from some resturants so some places he just did not order an appy. The same with ordering 'kids' special drinks-again NO. He could order a milkshake that cost more than the kids drink so it was not a $$ issue more of an inconvince for the server to keep things seperated out. Now if he wanted to order only from the kids menu then that was not a problem and he did do that a couple of times-he really needed a macncheee fix...LOL
Most deserts both adult and childrens were listed on the same desert menu. So he was able, as could the 'real' adults \, to order any desert we wanted.

If your BF can't find an appy he likes then just skip it, there is so much food with the entree, desert he won't go away hungry!
