Hi there,
It's on the front page of our local paper - the Magic will be leaving next May of 2005 to be a part of the Disneyland theme park's 50th anniversary - she will be located at the Port of Los Angles and will be offering various ports in Mexico - She will offer 12 7-night cruises and then will return back to Port Canaveral - it also appears that plans are being made to build a 3rd ship tho plans are being put on hold until the cost is affordable. The Wonder will still be at Port Canaveral. According to the paper, the TA's are requesting booking early to take the Magic through the Panama Canal on to her new home since it is expected to be a frenzy booking. What a cruise that will be - wish I was going.
Anyhow just wanted to share that tidbit from Port Canaveral.
Much love
Always
Shirley

me too! I was sitting there watching the news at 6:30 AM and our local news starts up with the story. Clear as day! It is moving. Now my kids saw the cruise pictures on the news and now they want to head out to CA. Unfortunately, that's not going to happen for us. So until the Magic come HOME (!) we will not be cruising

I could cry! I was keeping my fingers crossed that it was a rumor since I wanted to book the 7 night Eastern for next summer for the family. I'm actually cheating on Disney and taking our first cruise with Princess out of San Juan at the end of October for just my husband and I. If I went on Disney without the kids they would kill me! I guess it will be 4 nights for next summer.

I hate to be the one to point this out, but hey you still have the Wonder. Those of us on the west coast just want to have the Magic over here for a visit and on behalf of the west coast we promise to return her the same way we recieved her.

cjsmith- I feel like crying too! We had planned a summer 2005 7 day cruise for my parents' 50th anniversary. 20-25 of us were going. If they were putting the Magic in Ca they still should have found a way to continue 7 day cruises on the East Coast.

I actually heard the announcement yesterday on Paul Harvey's show shortly before 12 noon. Sorry, I was travelling and couldn't get to a computer to share it (this is my first opportunity). So much for the big announcement on 5/5

Yea so much for 5/05. I was planning on going on the 5th and relaying the info to VerandahMan for posting (KaitlanMoms was going as well) but now have cancelled my DR. appt (TEE HEE) for that day (Now the whole family is going Thursday but not at 10:00). We went to CA yesterday and all of the Disney folks were very open about the ship coming out here now. On the other hand, I got on the TOT after waiting only 3 minutes (We walked by it and saw some employees mulling around the front of TOT. My DS6 said lets check it out and when we got to the entrance, they asked it we would like to ride). What a ride. I think it's better than the one at WDW but it has been a year since I rode that one. They also said that a bunch of actors\actresses\press would be there both today and tomorrow. Thursday will be a mad house at the parks here. - Mike

I know, it's tough to share though!!! The Wonder is great, but after doing two 7 day cruises within 6 months I don't know how I'll go back to the 4 day. Oh well, the sacrifices we must make!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
