I guess we probably knew that though ;)

Im watching the Today show ( yes still LOL) and theyre talking about how its normal for parents to dread kids going off to school and camp and stuff. I dont dread that kind of thing at all.

I always loved going to school when I was little I guess I project that on to my kids, they really look forward to it too. I always think its great when they go off to school not because Im getting rid of them, but because they are growing and experiencing new things and they love that!!
They are so happy to get out there and love being around other people and I really encourage that.

My kids are my life but Im not sad that theyre going to school I love that they have these opportunities. I treasure each stage of life I guess and appreciate each step of the way.

Apparently that isnt normal?

my friends think Im weird because Birthdays dont bother me either. Its all part of the same thing, treasure each season, you'll only get one walk through :)

I'm not normal, either. :) No surprise to anybody that knows me!

My kids love looking forward to a new school year. DD already has her backpack ready. I love spending time with my kids and between schedules and homework, the school year doesn't lend itself to that very well. I could never homeschool, but I understand that yearning that people have to spend all day with their kids.

The only birthday that's bothered me was 29.

I'll join the not normal group. I love watching my girls grow up and develop their personalities. They are caring and thoughtful, and just everything I could hope for them to be.
Add stubborn and hard headed into the mix for some interest I guess, but they both are wonderful young ladies and I'm very proud of them.

I dread going back to school but it's because I'm back
driving the school bus. DS is excited and I'm excited for him.

Ahhh, it's just more media propaganda to make us parents feel guilty over our children if we're not revolving our lives around them.

but I already knew that!LOL

Oh No! Now all of you guys know now too!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Regarding school, etc. I also encourage for the new experiences and friendship that can be made! Life is not lived be behind locked doors!

That's probably true! LOL

I must not be normal either. Even though she struggled with so many things I still enjoyed seeing my daughter gather new experiences and to grow and learn from them. I LIKED that she grew away from needing to lean on her mommy and daddy for her every need. :D

I get the occasional twinge of sadness when I realize how quickly DS is growing up. It passes rather quickly. :)

I'm very happy that he is growing up and I enjoy the person he has become. They way I see it is that he's enjoying his life because we've given him the foundation to do that. I don't get sad when he's out having experiences independent of me.

I'm abnormal then. I was probably more excited about my kids going to school this week than they were, and they were pretty excited.:teeth:

I think it is normal to want to get rid if 'em too!

Count me in the not normal group also! Last year youngest dd started kindergarten and everyone kept saying, "aren't you sad, your baby's growing up etc" I kept telling them I couldn't be sad because dd was so EXCITED about going to kindergarten. (If I could post the picture, you'd agree) She literally glowed that day. I loved my dd's as babies, but I am also enjoying being along on their journey's as they grow into pre-teens, teenagers and then adulthood. Hopefully, I will serve them well and they will be able to stand on their own as productive adults. If I can do that, then I that will have been my greatest accomplishment in life.:D

I think they got THAT one wrong!! Yea, right...parents really hate the kids to go back to school.
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I hate it when it s time for back to school. We do so much together in the summer and once Sept comes it will be all day school, karate, homework then bed....no real "fun" time except for the weekends where we will have to pack it all into!!

OMG, so this means I'm actually NORMAL??!! :earseek: Who'd have thought?

I hate when the kids go back to school becuase that means no more going up to the lake during the week, no more free Saturdays (DD has gymnastics practice on Saturdays during the school year), no more staying up late during the week, back to rushing around and the brutal schedule of school, gym, and homework for DD12. I love lazy, laid-back summers.

On the other hand, fall is so beautiful here and it's my favorite time of year so I have that to look forward to. :D
