hi there! This will be my first time using the app for Disney (it’s been many years since I’ve been) and I’m having some issues. The app was working just fine until my hotel and fast passes were linked. Ever since then the app has been crashing as soon as I open it. Very frustrating. I’d like to be able
To use the map feature while
We are in the parks but as
Of now I can’t even open it up. Anyone else having this issue? Is it a temporary problem? If
It helps I have an iPhone SE.

Welcome to My Disney Experience. They did not lie, it is certainly an Experience. You can expect to continue experiencing frustrating experiences for the duration of your use of My Disney Experience. We hope you will enjoy your experience at Disney World, and with the My Disney Experience app.

Ok, and now, to be serious, well, honestly, I pretty much was being serious in the first paragraph. The app is challenging at best, and downright frustrating at worst. To make things better, the web site is often not much better. When the app doesn't work for you, try logging in to the website from a browser. When that doesn't work, try a different browser, or try a private, or incognito tab. Usually, one of those methods will get you logged in, though sometimes it just flat out won't work. I'm sorry, I wish I had a better answer for you, but this is the reality that we have all been dealing with pretty much since the beginning of My Disney Experience. Good luck!

Thank you for the info! So what do you do while in the park it you don’t have access to your itinerary? Should I screen shot my fast passes?

Yes, I screenshot everything just to be on the safe side. I also keep one single Google Docs document with all of my fp's listed, ADRs and confirmation numbers, tours and confirmation numbers, etc. That way I can pull it up on my phone and see everything all in one place.

I keep a Google Doc with all of the details of my trip in it, including my ADR #'s and times, FP+ locations and times, addresses (we drive), packing lists, reservation information for hotels, rental car, expected expenses, actual expenses etc etc etc. That provides us a backup for when MDE doesn't work.

The Google doc is also a pre-trip planning tool, with all of our packing lists, our shopping lists for things we need to get before the trip, and an easy way to share information with our kids, and my mother (when she travels with us), plus all of that information is available when we begin planning our next trip. We have a record of our actual expenses, we have our packing lists, we have our notes (such as this restaurant was awesome, that restaurant we will never eat at again, and such).

If you ask me what is the one most important tip you would share with someone planning a Disney World trip, the Google doc is the one thing I would tell them about.

I use the website via the browser on my phone.

I was just there and the app was the worse it's ever been in regards to crashing or locking up. Every single time it would crash at least once prior to me getting to what I want to do. About half the time it didn't crash it would lock up. It was pretty rare for it to open and act normally. I use the browser most of the time.

And it didn't make any difference if I was on wifi or data.

Great minds think alike :rotfl:

This matches our experience with the app last week as well. Probably the most unstable it has been in our travels. It would work at times, but I grew tired of the crashing and stalling. Between the app and web we still did everything we needed with OK efficiency so not the end of the world, still annoying though.

Perhaps not the end of the world, but in light of how much money has been invested into the app / website, the ever increasing prices for everything Disney related, and how integral they have made the app / website to nearly every facet of a vacation now, it is absolutely inexcusable for it to be such a malfunctioning disaster.
