Apology for Yesterday

Thank you for the apology. Many of us have no idea what goes on on other boards here so carrying a "joke" from one board to another with the intent to make people angry can leave a sour taste in the mouth.

Thank you for having the courage to make your apology.

I missed this whole thing but agree that its very nice and shows a lot of integrity that you apologized. I have to say, I go all over the disboards, and this is the only one besides WISH (that I frequent) where an apology and this much caring about others feelings are considered.

Believe me, people will forget about this real quick!

I have had to backtrack before with some of my humor so I can imagine that you just made an error in judgement which happens to all of us.

To those who apologized Thank You. I was extremely upset by the original post and by sam's comment about leaving her 6 y.o. in line. I ignored that though and addressed the other comments made by dizzy. It made me sick to my stomach to think that someone would be so mean to their child. I was very relieved to see that it was just a joke, a joke in very poor taste (which I also said on the original thread) but a joke all the same. Thank You again, for apologizing, it does make a difference. :)

Sherry, I would have said something to any CM, or I would have left the line and told those around me why I was leaving and asked to come back. NOTHING is more important than a child's safety, that Mother would have had some explaining to do when she returned to her child. OTH, what if she wasn't the Mom? What is she an Aunt or cousin? Maybe it wasn't as important to her, altho that is no excuse.

Jane, I'm glad the CM came and got the Mom and made her wait outside! As a CM I wonder if she could have called security and had something more forceful done, removal from the park maybe?

Jade (and others) I was a very young Mom, I was 16 when my first DD was born, she's now 20 and expecting her first child. NO WAY would I EVER have left her alone like that. No way, even at 16 I knew what a gift a child was and my girls have always been my number 1 priority. :) Not every young Mom is irresponsible like that. :) Like I said yesterday, I won't even let my 8 y.o. wander DL alone, or my 12 y.o. I do let them wander together but I must know exactly where they are going and they always have a phone with them while I have the other one. We are always "in the know" where they are concerned.

:grouphug: Thank you for understanding.
Believe me I am not a perfect person and sometimes, make that many times, I say things I regret and just want to smack myself for. It wasn't the first and unfortunately it probably wont be the last in my life.

Thank you for accepting our apology and again we reallly did not mean to hurt anyone. You are all caring people and I want to thank you again for that.

Fortunately, my friends and I were right next to the stroller with the baby in the Carnation line, and, in fact, we let a couple of other people go around the stroller and in front of us so we could kind of keep watch until the mom (or aunt or cousin) returned. We were not going to sit down at our table and leave the baby unattended without telling a CM, but, fortunately, right at that moment where it was getting close to our being seated, the mom/aunt/cousin came back and got the baby and they disappeared from sight. I guess she changed her mind about eating there after she made her cell phone call on Main Street. So it was an awkward situation because they were pretty much gone and it was our time to be seated (even though we let people ahead of us, they had a larger party than ours and a table opened up that could accommodate us), so we didn't want to delay anyone else in line by stopping to tell the CM about it when the offending woman and the baby were already almost out of eyesight. Fortunately the Carnation line is so darn long that we stood in practically the same spot for ages and were able to watch the child in the stroller. If we had been seated right away, I don't know what would have happened. Nobody else in line seemed to notice that a child was left alone - they only noticed that a stroller was jutting out into the line and they had to walk around it!! The baby almost sort of looked like an inanimate doll because it was sleeping, so maybe some folks didn't realize it was an actual child!

I was following that thread last night and didn't notice it was gone until just a few moment ago. Darn those people who expect me to work! So it was a joke? Whew. I was really worried about it. I responded to her original thread just as a few others had recommending that she check in early and get her slip.

We took DD to DL for the first time when she was 3. We got to the park and it started raining. We ducked under the canapy outside of the pin store in Tomorrowland. We decided to run intpo the store to get our free pins and lanyards. We counted one, two, three go. We got to the store and no DD!! We ran back out into the rain and there was this little wet princess holding an umbrella and crying. She thought we had left her!!! What an aweful way to start off a trip! It took me a few hours to get my stomach back into the right spot because it just dropped when I turned and she was no where to be seen!
