I would like to apologize to all of you on this forum about the threads regarding my family. I'm letting my mental illness consume me and I'm going to try and fight for better treatment. Thank to you those who offered words of advice in the last thread.

Please call your psychiatrist immediately for an appointment. If your doctor cannot see you for whatever reason then call your local mental health center. I hope the best for you and the best right now is some counseling.

I wish I could but my pdoc is out of the country til feb 9. If I get worse I will contact a mental health center. I wish I could do counseling/therapy but my insurance doesn't cover services by non MD mental health professionals. I think I will be ok my boyfriend will be home after the AFC game and I will try to talk to him.

:grouphug: to you OP. You do not need to apologize for anything. People come on these boards all the time and talk about their families, their problems and everything else under the sun. That's what the boards are for. :)

There is nothing wrong with being sad at the loss of the relationship with your brother and trying to work through some of that on the boards. We feel how we feel KWIM?

Try talking with your brother. I hope that you are able to get the help you are looking for and that you are feeling better soon. I will say a prayer for you. :flower3:

Didnt read other threads but you need a hug! :flower3: (yes. I know it's a flower.)

Browneyes, you don't need to apologize. I know you miss your brother and feel alone. Even though your doctor is out of town, maybe there is another doctor in that group or a number you can call to see an available doctor who will be covered by your insurance. I think it's important that you see someone and talk about your feelings.

I think a good start is to talk to your boyfriend when he gets home. Then please find a number to a doctor covered by your plan. But like Sadie said, if you cannot find someone, you can call your mental health center.

:grouphug:

Everything will be ok. We all get overwhelmed with life from time to time. The important thing is getting help when you need it.

Thank you Tink. What does KWIM mean? I don't think talking will work with my brother my sister tried to talked to him sometime back and it didn't work well. I really wish I could get counseling/therapy and I will try to find other ways but I really don't want to go with the county services in my area. Thank you for the prayer.

 to you.

Do what you need to do to get into therapy, even if it is through the county. Just because it's free or sliding scale does not make it bad. I would cut a lot of things before I'd cut my therapy--it's that important to and for me.

I will try find another docter that is in my insurance group but it will be hard I have tried doing it in the past and when I contact other doctors/clinics I sometimes find out they have dropped my company or only service people under 18. I'm still hesitant about going to county mhc's because the ones in my area don't have good reputations. At this point I don't think talkng to my bf will be good tonight because he is probably drinking right now and I don't want to start an argument with him.

I don't know how your insurance works, but mine has a website that lists current doctors that are accepted by my insurance. It is updated daily. I don't know if yours is similar, but if there is a website available that might be an easy way to find one. The back of your insurance card would probably list the web address, if one is available.

My insurance group/company isn't run well regarding doctor lists because about a year ago I was trying to change doctors and one doctor I contacted told me she had dropped that company a year before so I really don't know what to expect with my group/company.

I know a doctor can take himself out of a network at any time. Then I think the best thing to do would be to call the insurance company directly and explain to them that your regular doctor is out of town and you would like help finding another one in your network. They should be able to help you.

:goodvibes

You can try urgent care also, they may be able to help refer you to someone. It really helps to talk to people. :grouphug:

I will try finding another doctor tommorow. Like I have said before I'm leery of county mental health services in my area. I hope I can find some solution to get better care. My pdoc isn't completely bad. She helped me to get on a good med combo but the only problem is she doesn't spend a lot of time examing what is going on in my life. I really don't want to go through urgent care because I don't want to take away services from person in more serious emergency.
