APH questions - seems better deal but how?

so, I did the math with the APH (rooms and tickets). I have to get 2 rooms. They said I need an APH in each room. My savings with purchase of 2 AP is close to $250 - does this make sense? Seems too good to be true. The rep on the phone told me the room discount with APH is almost always 30% even in summer. Is this so?

I realize my numbers are just estimates because the APH rate is not out into July yet, but still thats a lot of $$ even if its just $200

Yup, that is how it works! There have been conflicting reports on how many APs you need. I would call the hotel and ask and get a name to use if there is an issue.

I also need 2 rooms and when I did the math I was saving nearly over $350.00when you included the free parking! The bad news is that the AP are sold out for the nights we're going. Boo Hoo

The free parking is only for the parks, not the hotels.

Potential problem - if I'm reading the universal orlando website correctly, then all of Islands of Adventure is blocked out for all of July if you buy the cheaper annual pass. So make sure you are factoring in the more expensive annual pass, since you want to go in July.

Just remember...the Power Pass is only for FL residents.

You're right. My mistake. I keep forgetting that when you click on ANNUAL PASS on the website, it takes you to annual passes for Florida residents instead of annual passes for the general public. There's a link on the right for annual passes for non-Florida residents, but I have a small monitor so I don't see it unless I scroll to the right.

In my mind, Florida residents are the exception, not the rule. (Sorry, Florida people!) I guess Universal Orlando sees it differently.

I agree. I think the way they have the website set up causes problems. We get many, many inquiries on this board about annual passes because of that issue.
