Apartment Question?

Hey guys,

I was wondering how big are the average apartment bed rooms? I plan on bringing down my PC & computer desk & was wondering if it would fit in the bedroom & my roommate plans on bringing a TV for our bedroom. Thanks.

I'd say slim to no room. Definitely not in Vista and probably not in Chatham. I had a friend who kept is computer next to the tv in their living room. Chatham has a computer station area in the hall but thats not really a lot of room there.

My roommate had a tv in our room but she put it on top of the little night table they give you. She only used it for movies because we didn't have a cable connection in the room

From what I've heard/seen pictures of, you wont have room in your bedroom for a computer desk. There will probably be a corner of the livingroom where you can set it up but I would definitely check with roommates before hand.

Chatham has the little computer nook so your desktop should be fine, even if it ends up sitting on the floor on your side of the room. Your tv should be fine too, just sit it on the dresser. I wouldn't bring the computer desk just in case.

TV in the bedroom could work on top of the dresser. The computer desk will probably be a bad idea, the apartments are already small and the apartments (at least in patterson court) bring a desk.

Thanks guys. Now I am debating whether or not to bring my PC. I also have a laptop but I would love to bring both which is why I wanted to bring a computer desk but now I don't think I can.

I can tell you what I'm going to do with my desktop. I'm putting my monitor on the nightstand with the tower on the floor next to it. I have a wireless keyboard with a trackpad on it so I can sit in bed and use my desktop. I would rather have a desk but this will work for me.

That is exactly what my one roomie did. The other with a desktop used the nook in the entry way. If you are the only one with a desktop in the place, it's not a problem in Chatham cus the nook would be yours by default. But if there are more then one of you with one, then it's deciding who gets it.


If you are in Vista, there is NO WAY a desk will ever fit in there. EVER. Don't even bother attempting it.

If you are in Chatham though, the one bedroom in the 2 bedroom apartments The one not through the bathroom when you first walk in, but one the other side of the living main room, is REALLY big. You'd fit a desk in there easy. If you get that room. Even if you are in the smaller one, with the proper arrangement of the furniture, you could fit a desk in the main living area.

Never been in a Paterson apartment before so I can't give my advise on that.

Honestly, unless you have to have ur PC for stuff that's saved on there or something, I would just definitely bring ur laptop. I brought my printer as well because I was taking 2 classes, but I just brought my laptop and it worked fine. I worked so much or was at the parks so I was never on my computer that much anyways. It will save u a lot of hassle than bringing it with you

^There are certain files on my PC that can't fit on my laptop so I would like to bring it. I'll probably go with the nightstand idea.
