AP8 rates are out people!!!!!!!

Does anyone know how often the calendar gets updated? I just had it out with one of the "disney travel company" folks over this very issue. No one seems to know the answer to this question. I've been trying to book AP7 on Dec 13 for my birthday for months and now it's marked to 179 at PP and they are telling me the hotel is sold out other than a one bedroom suite. Does anyone know if this gets updated nightly?

Sorry for the gruff post, the guy on the phone just frustrated me! :headache:

CandCMommy, I would think that they would be updated nightly. I would like to comment about the booking though. I called to reserve DLH for the first of Feb. to catch the AP8. The person I was talking to had no clue what I was talking about. She kept quoting $230. I kept telling her that the AP site was less than that. She finally took my number and said she would research it. She called back a short while later and said that her computer was not talking to the system. I would call back and speak to someone different to double check, but remember that the number of rooms at this rate is limited. Good luck!!

Yesterday, when I was making my December reservation for the GCH with the 10% AP discount, I had already checked on the AP section of the DLR website prior to calling. The availability calendar said that the best "available" rate for AP holders for the dates I wanted at the GCH were $450 a night, and just the day before it had said $405. I assumed that AP holders or other hotel guests had booked up all the $405 a night rooms and I would be stuck with the higher rate. I even figured out exactly what amount I would need to pay up front, based on that $450 rate. However, when I called to make the reservation, the CM told me that there were AP discount rooms available at the $405 rate, which contradicted what the calendar said. I don't know if the calendar was right or wrong, or if the CM was right or wrong, but since the discrepancy was in my favor, I didn't question it!!! I wasn't about to say, "Why aren't you charging me the higher rate because the calendar says that is all that is open?":rotfl: Maybe their computer system wasn't "talking" to whomever it was suppposed to talk to and they didn't realize the $405 rooms were gone! Oh well, they already quoted me that lower rate. They won't change it now that I am already locked into it. They have underquoted other guests too, and they will usually honor their quoted rates even after they realize their mistake.

So in any case, as everyone knows, a lot of times the CM's don't have all the updated info, and what one CM seems to be confident about is what another one is clueless about!! You always have to call several times and talk to different people just to get the real deal.

Under AP7 12/13 date was blocked out (we are going this weekend as well). Under the new AP8 rate, it is no longer blacked out. Some people were able to access the calendar with AP8 rates immediately, some of us were not able to. As soon as I saw the AP8 rates posted on the AP web page I called and got the $179 rate. I was originally booked at $266 so that is a good savings!

Do you think there will be an AP9 rate soon for after Feb 12?

Bump!

The vacation we're planning is Feb 10-15. Do they usually have another code that butt up next to the last one? If so, how would it be possible to book using both rates?

DLH is $169 (pool view) for 10-12 but jumps up to $320 13-15!

If I recall in the last two years I have not seen this type of discount on the 14th due to Valentine's Day. If you want to stay onsite I would recommend booking asap for the dates you can get the AP rate for and hope you can piggyback it later. We had ressies at BWPPI as a back up in case AP rates did not come out as I did not want to pay the huge rates like you are being quoted.

That weekend is blacked out for Deluxe AP. Not only is it Valentines, but I believe it is also President's Day Weekend. I don't think they would have cheaper rates for then.

We have the Premium AP. But you're right, I'm sure they won't be offering anything cheaper for those dates because of the holidays.

On a related note: what is the new policy regarding reserving rooms w/ AP? When we booked last Feb, we didn't pay a penny until we checked in. I know it's changed but I can't remember if they charge the whole thing or just 1 night or what.

When I booked our room at DLH for Feb., they charged one night plus taxes and fees.

We were charged for the first night only when we made reservations.

Thanks SO much for letting us know these rates are out.

Several months ago, my family decided to plan our daughter's first trip to DLR. We wanted to stay at GCH, but wanted to do it the cheapest way possible. I asked a lot of questions on this board and did my research.

I've been waiting for these rates to come out, and I just cancelled my old reservation and made a new one with these rates. We had to move the trip up 2 weeks, but saved over $300.

Thanks again for posting the news... this is what I've been waiting for!

No problem. I am all about staying on site if at all possible. Luckily we go to DL during times when they offer these rates so we are able to.

Thanks for the responses.

Now- what are the chances they'll have another AP promo rate starting maybe Feb 17?

Finally, after four calls and talking to four different agents I was able to book Paradise Pier for 179.00 on December 13th and 149.00 on 14th! :cool1: And this was all on the same day!

The first person I talked to told me the AP rate for the 13th was 249.00. The second person told me they only had a one bedroom suite available on the 13th. The third person told me I would have to make two seperate reservations because there was a rate change from the first night to the second which would require me to make two deposits. FINALLY...the fouth person pulled it right up and quoted me the same rates that were on the AP availablitly calendar. :cool1:

Yay, PP for the second year in a row for my bday! :thumbsup2

I would encourage you to have them fax or email you confirmation so you do not have any issues when you arrive and check in. I did this as there is a rate change during our stay as well.
