Where exactly were you looking? I was on the AP section of the DLR website (which must be getting a lot of hits because it was moving really sloooooow), and pulled up the availability calendar, which only showed the rates up through January. And I didn't see $149 a night. I obviously looked in the wrong place, but where do I need to look?:confused3

If you click Special Offers:
Enjoy the magic all night long with a stay at the Disneyland® Resort! But hurry — these special Annual Passholder rates are only available for a limited time!

Now through February 12, 2009

# Rates starting at $139*

For reservations, call (866) 411-3890† and ask for rate plan "AP8."

Oh Dang It. I was really hoping for something on Feb. 21st.

If you click Special Offers:

Oh, okay. Thanks, Molly. It figures. When I first checked the availability calendar and only got to January, the site (or my computer) was running so slow at that point that when I tried to go to Special Offers, it just locked up on me and I gave up. So I didn't even see what was there!!!

This is what I know for any of you that are curious...
DLH was $289 concierge, $189 view, $149 standard
GC was $469 concierge, $299 view and $249 standard
I did not get rates for PP as we stay at DLH on our trip with DS. I was just curious what GC was for. We saved almost $700 from the regular AP discount with the AP8 rate. We also had ressies for BWPPI and DLH is only $300 more for the seven nights which I think is definitely worth it!!!

Can you book an AP8 rate if you don't have an AP yet?

Where can you purchase an AP?

yes, you can book ap8 w/o ap ahead of time, just go to the ap section when calling for reservations.

you can purchase ap online or have them add it to your hotel reservation. only one in the party needs to have the ap & I believe you can book up to 2 rooms per ap.

also, you can buy a deluxe ap at so cal costco & get a $50 disney giftcard upon exchanging the voucher from costco to the disney ticket booths. so, it's like a $50 discount.

there's also a thread out there about getting $30 off deluxe ap online or something. sorry, I don't know more about that.

hope this info helps.:upsidedow

Woohoo!! Booked myself a birthday trip in Jan. DLH for $149 for 2 nights! Now all I have to do is find someone to go with me and figure out how to pay for it :rolleyes1

Great, thanks :thumbsup2

I am new to DL and it really is different from WDW. There are so many discounts available for WDW you don't need to purchase an AP but in WDW you have to have your AP pass in hand when you check in. It can't be part of you package.

Calendar is now updated with the AP8 rates thru the end of January. FYI: I was booked for $149 a night for 12/10 and 12/11 and $266 a night for 12/12 and 12/13 (these dates were blocked out under AP7). Well hot dog because now my weekend nights are $179 instead of $266 and that saves me $197 and I am happy!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1: :thumbsup2

The calendar was updated yesterday, as soon as you had posted the first time. But Bumbershoot pointed out that the AP8 rates going into February were under the Special Offers section.

Must have been something wrong with my computer when loading the AP website because it did not load the AP8 rates on the calendar on my end until today.:confused3

It's funny - I had sort of the opposite problem yesterday! As soon as I read your post about the AP8 rates being up yesterday, I instantly went to the DLR site and into the AP section. Everything was moving very slow, so I assumed the site was getting lots of hits. I got to the calender and saw the new rates through the end of January, but not February. I tried to click on Special Offers to see what came up, but either the site or my computer locked up and I gave up. I came back here and asked you where you had seen the new rates, and Bumbershoot replied that they were under the Special Offers section that I could not access yesterday, and they included February. But normally, at other times when I try to access the calendar, I can't see it or it is moving SO sloooooowly that I just give up. I was surprised that I got to it yesterday, but I guess everyone else was over in the Special Offers section!

I have more problems with the disneyland website and disneyshopping.com websites. I am excited about the new AP8 rate...for our two trips I saved almost $900. Now that is some savings!:thumbsup2

I always assume it is my stupid computer that is the problem, so in a way, I am glad to know that other folks have issues with the Disney sites! And yes, I have had trouble on Disneyshopping.com too, now that I think of it! Slllllllllooooooooowwwww!

Those rates are GREAT! It almost makes me tempted to plan ANOTHER trip for next year, but I will wait and see. The rates are good for all 3 hotels but because the GCH is so outrageously expensive normally, those rates are an especially great deal!

Do you think there will be an AP9 rate soon for after Feb 12?

We're planning a family reunion for Feb. 14.
