what is the diffrentce between ap4 and ap rates?
I am seeing how much less it would be to stay at pp-concierge serivce and maybe park view(i like the fire works from my room)
on gay day rates, or ap rates
Im getting my ap there, but i might buy it at the disney store here and then just use the vouchers when there to get the real aps.
one in the group will have the bigger ap, and two will have cheaper ones.

Normal AP discount is something like 10%.

But they will have specials, like the now-over (I think) AP4, which involved $169 for PP concierge, or $129 normal PP room, $199 GCH normal room, etc.

There's an AP5 rate that doesn't seem to be as good as the AP4, and does not seem to include concierge, that is good on some rooms, some days for the next couple months. Seems to be $10 more per night at PP than the AP4 rate was, for example.

You just have to call their reservations number and ask about AP5 for your dates, see if that works.

I know you've always done packages which involve prepayment, and I think that even hotel-only reservations at WDW require some sort of pre-payment, but I wanted to assure you that hotel-only reservations at DLR don't require prepayment, so you can make reservations but later cancel them without a problem. They are like regular hotels in that respect. So you could find a rate you can live with, and then if a better rate comes out later, you can cancel and rebook, as long as you are within the period where you can do that (like with a normal hotel, that's a few days away from checkin, if that long).

And remember that the type of AP really only makes a difference with the discounts on food and merchandise (and the blocked out dates), not with hotel discounts, as far as I know.

The AP4 rate was offered in the Fall of 2007, I believe the last day of stay for that rate was Dec. 15.

The AP5 rate is the new rate offered Jan-Mar. I believe the last day it is offered is March 8.

It's true that the AP5 rates are about $10-$20 more per night than the AP4 rates were.

And there is no special concierge rate for AP5.

so dose any one know when there new ap rate days come out. Like im not on ap yet, im buying them eather right before going or when i leave, do ppl who have aps now get emails or anything with spicials. I mean I just read seeing the end of oct might have something
I am willing to change my days any time in oct as long as we get the halloween party.
Trying to find the cheapest way couse we also want to do another trip in dec-jan (end of christmas time/nye)

There is a quarterly newsletter, but I can't remember right now if it has info on hotel deals.

It seemed the news of the AP4 rates came out not all that long before they started, and it's been maybe a month, if that long, since I've heard about the AP5 rates.

Other than the newsletter/magazine thing, once you have your AP (the actual AP, not the voucher) you can log onto the AP part of disneyland.com and have access to the info. For those without activated APs, as far as I know, calling them (often) is the way to know if something is available for your exact dates.

Since you're looking at October, if I were in your shoes, I'd make a reservation at a rate you are comfy with. If that means the Gay Days rate, and that's available right now and you're going during that time, then do that. And as it gets closer, and as you see people mentioning great AP rates for that time (what would it be by then, AP7? lol), call the reservations people and ask about that!

ty verry much yes thats what i was thinkign i would do, is call probley weds day seeing monday newyears eve and all.
and at leasdt book the gay day rates and ask what they know of the ap spicals, at least with that i can tell every one here what i find out and pass the news along
